Congrats! Sounds like a very good match....

I do finally have a slight critique on the Incognito hidden winch bumper... Could the shackle mounts be shorter so they don't stick out of the bumper so far? I think that would further improve the stealthy-ness.

Well, I'm glad you finally have a critique. Ha. If the shackle mounts were any closer you wouldn't be able to hang a shackle on it without it sitting against the bumper. They stick out but probably not as far is it looks. Coming out of a recessed area like that makes it look longer but if you look at it from overhead it's maybe 2" from the bumper. It's good to have some clearance from the bumper so you're not as worried about knocking it with a shackle or whatever equipment you're dealing with. I used it to pull that stump out the other day and that wasn't even a thought. I didn't get this mount to be discreet necessarily. Hell, I'm driving a freaking Lexus that I clearly take offroad. Nothing discreet about that. And a fairlead with a giant hook or a Flatlink isn't totally discreet either. That's my 2¢.

HOW DARE YEY!

nah JK like freddy said they are that way for a reason bc i figured some people would want to hang shackles off them and it kinda makes things even less stealthy when you have chipped paint on the bottom of your bumper ....

what would be pretty trick though is when IF you buy yours ... being the shackle mounts are bolted on you could color match them ... and maybe color match the shackles ...

I also plan to make them about a 1/4 taller to fill the vent area better and look a bit beefyer ... maybe that will help with the illusion that they sticking out too far ... thanks for the honest opinion but something just have to be the way they are ... i'll take a look at the next though to see if there is any room to come in ... now that im self conscious about it ;)

Does this help...?
I think the size of the SSS bumper is misleading ... bc your kind of taking all of what's down low and bring it up high ... for crawling and offroad use its perfect ... giving you the most ground clearance ...
It's not everyone's taste ... not mine at first but it grew on me the more I saw it and now I love it ... I'd be surprised if it stuck out farther than an ARB

Thank you so much for those pictures! It really does help me envision the look. It isn't actually as big as it looked in a lot of other pictures. Thanks for sharing these.

Hey no problem and if it's any better perspective Iv measured an ARB and they stick out just as far in the front ... they are just different shapes that's all ...

Waiting for that stealth rear tire carrier so I can order them together :)

The stock black vents may hide the shackle mounts more. Making the shackle mounts fill the vent will probably help too.

Excited to see what you cool up for sliders. I think the metaltech ones are just about perfect, but a lower price would be nice.

Also, on the incognito, are the shackle mounts optional for people who wouldnt want those?

May I ask why you wouldn't want those? The GX has no true recovery points. Those little welded on loops are not for jerking or snatching, just towing. If you're getting a winch, you need a place to double back and hook onto if you run a snatch block. I know it's yours, but if you're going to get a winch you expect to need it one day. If you think you may need a winch, you'll need those shackle mounts as well. Another thing to consider is that a winch is last resort. If you can get pulled out via snatch strap, that's much easier and quicker. But without shackle mounts that's not really an option. Trust me. I've already used them a few times. Helped my wife's uncle out Friday night. Stuck on the side of the road. Used the shackle mount not the winch. They'll get used much more than the winch. Not getting them will only limit your recovery options. And that's not a good risk to take out on the trail. Just my 2¢.

WGW product idea. I know you are a metals guy, but the fenders from the SSO build got me thinking about mudflaps again. We can all trim the running board to work and that looks pretty good, but I still like how the front flaps look on the Prado 120, my last 80 series, and current gen 4Runner. Maybe something like that. I would say way low on the priority list but maybe down the road if you get bored (yeah right).

Im well aware what they are used for, i come from the jeeping world and have pulled cable more than i care to remember. I personally only want the winch. Also, you dont need to use shackles as a place to double back a hook. There are other options especially if you plan on running synth line, like a thimble mount.

The shackle mounts are designed as a bolt on component for the case the someone didn't want them ...
If later on you decided they would a valuable asset then you can put in an order with use and just bolt them on the to the already existing mounting holes provided

The "stealth tire carrier" as you guys have seemed to have named it already lol ... is on our list of interest to design ... I think that would be really nice addition to the "incognito"

I'll look into it ...

I'd like to see some type of off road bumper that isn't quite as large as the SSS and ARB winch bumper offerings. Something like this would be sweet!
