Well, I'm going to have test the hardware out at the machine shop. I'd rather have a Bridgeport make the pan heads work rather than my cheap drill press.

I got the 100* screws and they work great which means I can stay with 14gauge stainless without the need to go thicker.

I'm getting rid of the slots because there really isn't a need since all the tolerancing on the connectors are pretty tight. That'll save on my machining costs.

I did a test fitment in a scrap piece of wood that I notched out. I suppose it's representative for rear drawer installs. This one is the flush mount version. Let me know what you folks think before I pull the trigger.

Here is the non-flush mount version. Basically only requires a single bolt hole anywhere in the truck. I like the freedom this one gives utilizing any available bolt so long as there is enough space. My only issue with this one is that the single bolt can act as a pivot if it's on a smooth/flat surface. A second, smaller, screw would remedy that but then it would mean adding a hole during installation. I wasn't a fan of that. So this one is open for discussion for sure. I'll like to go into production soon so any feedback would be helpful.

Both look good. For the single bolt version I'd say no set screw - it would be an easy add for anyone that needs it.
Now I just need to plan a project around these connectors...

With the flush mount, is there a portion of the bottom that wraps up to the backside of the mounting surface? Hard to tell from the pics but the bottom metal looks curved up the backside and the board looks squished at the screw.

No it just ends where you see it. It's coincidence that I had a piece of ply that was the same thickness. Having it wrap around the back does no good for any application other than that thickness of wood. :P

well that's good new, I was hoping it didn't! Any news on the portion that connects to this and goes to the fridge?

Not yet. I purchase WAY more ARB fridge plugs than I needed in order to get a decent discount JUST so that I can turn around and chop them up. Ugh :bang:

Doing the battery wiring portion is easy but I need to make sure I can actually develop the idea I have in my head. ;)

Need some feedback since I am about to go into production with these. I just want to know if raw stainless or black powder coat is preferable?

I'd prefer a torx or hex fastner personally.

I would too if it needed ANY kind of torque but since it's a nut on the rear the torque can be applied to the nut. That be said, I'm going to assume that folks will like either of those two options V's the Phillips/JIS (which I can get).

I prefer black PC. and I'd like to order one non-flush mount version. great work

Joey,

How you doing on this project ? I'm ready to take 2 of the surface mount brackets off your hands. Just bought a fridge and I HATE the cig lighter adapter cord.

Thanks, Jonathan

Well...

I just submitted the PO yesterday so they are getting made.

But...

I do have something else I'm finishing up for exactly that cable. Just waiting for my piece for strain relief :D

That is sweet !! Exactly what I'm trying to do. What length is that cable and what gauge wire ?

thanks !!

The coil itself, compressed, is 12" long. The total length from plug to plug is 28" compressed.
The total expanded length is 60"+

I just got in a whole box full of ARB/Engel plugs so I will be making a batch of these along with the source side to ;)

I'm finishing up the source side now. Juuuust about done. Waiting for one package to come in the mail so I can tie this all up into a nice bow :P
