I’d assume replacement regulators are not available. Anybody know of somebody who repairs them or sells parts? I searched around the forums, didn’t see anything. Which seems odd as we all have 4 ancient ones inhabiting our doors.

Yes, used is the way to go, and even then you have to be sure. They must have changed the regulator designs almost every year, and not every regulator works with every year. Ran into that issue years ago trying to replace worn out or missing regulators on my rig. That's something you have to keep your eyes peeled for when someone's parting one out. Good luck

It does if your winder was for short shafts and your regulator has a long shaft. Clips won't reach the slot on the regulator. Ask me how I know. A grinder and a careful touch are your friend, but only after much irritation. Had '69, '74, '73 and '76 rigs donate parts so don't know where the change occurred. But if the mounts and internals are all the same! The Spline on the handle shouldnt matter![]()
The fix I’ve always thought about was finding a similar style of regulator from some common vehicle that the gear, shaft, and teeth could be somehow grafted onto the Cruiser regulator assembly. Haven’t gotten too far down that hole though, so it could all be a pipe dream.Wow, this is a can o worms! I’m going to have to see if repairs are possible or fabricating something.

What system did you use? DS?My driver side has been broken for the whole decade I've owned it. But putting the electric system on negates issue and the window does fall anymore. In fact I think the ds electric window works better than all the other windows because the register is broken.
