Winch solenoids mounted in engine bay?

For those that have done it, where did you put them and would greatly appreciate a pic or two. Real estate seems limited in there

I removed the silly PAIR thingy coming out the air filter and located in that general area.

If you're adding a battery box, this is one place it'll fit with fairly short cabling dropping down and out to the winch. I then tucked my dual battery charge controller behind the box with a BlueSea switch on top.

I mounted mine in front of the DS battery. I simply took some angle iron, welded a bracket to it, then bolted up the contactor. I then made custom cables that go down, out the DS headlight hole, under the rad, and over the bumper to the winch. Routing is pretty easy and I was able to run x4 1/0 cables this way.

That is my front solenoid.
Mounted on 3 point 2mm bracket. Screwed on original places.
Wires went into cab where socket is installed to prevent contacts from corrosion and to prevent control wire from be forgoten after winching.

Thanks for all the ideas. I ended up throwing an L bracket on it and bolting to back of Aux battery box.
