Why no overhead grab-handle on driver's side? (1 Viewer)

My wife is 5'8" and she uses both grab handles to pull herself in when she's wearing a skirt. Without sliders or running boards it's kinda hard to get in my truck without a skirt ;)

My 91 has a pillar mounted one. I only use it when I drive one handed. I don't need help getting into my truck as I am young and in good shape.

Curran posted that he used the captured nuts on the ds to mout a mag light but would hit his head on it.

Ogsuv posted that it was a good idea for the passenger side, meaning he wouldn't hit his head on it.

I posted that if my wife was taller I'd install it on the passenger side, meaning I'd love to see her hit her head on it.

Man, these jokes loose something when you have to connect the dots.

Search Nakman, Tim did a quick write up and pics of wha he did.

because your supposed to use your hands to sterr vehicle :rolleyes:

The Maglight mount using the DS captured nuts "might" work for a shorter driver. I'm 6'2" with a tall seated height. The mount wouldn't be a problem for the vertically challenged.

As a funny tangent: I mounted a set of modified Maglite clips to the captured nuts on the DS to hold my three D cell Maglite. It looks sweet and my Maglite is always conviently located. But it has darn near knocked me out a couple of time when playing in the rocks.

I had one of those mag light clip kits they sell, I wouldn't trust that thing near my head. Mine popped out a couple of times and those clips are easy to break. I would imagine in a wreck that would be a real good instrument for removing your teeth or knocking your own skull in. Just food for thought.

Both my 80 and my 97 Tacoma have one on the driver's side from the dealer or factory one...

Is it "odd" to have one on an 80?

I knew that but I wasn't gonna say it out loud....:D

Good thing she doesn't surf here or you would really be in trouble......;)

Critter;

When I first read the thread I thought I already had one on my 40th also but they are talking about the one above the door window(like the one on the passenger side) not the one on windshield piller.
