We wish we knew too, very sad to say the least. It may seem like it was a little kid issue but my daughter's 25 and it was "her dog" since high school. They were devoted to each other which made it very unusual behavior. She was a very gentle dog and her biting freaked us all, it was apparent something went very wrong.Kaita misses her buddy as much as we do...
when we had to put Billie down it was because of a tumour, our dock said "off the record, it is the dry dog food that is killing these dogs". he has seen many many healthy dogs getting tumours at much to young an age. he says he thinks it is the chemicals in the processing.
Cruiser now gets 95% human food, he is very happy and healthy for now. i just won't take the chance again, it hurts too much.
if you guys feel it is safe to feed your best friend the dry stuff, more power to you, i am not trying to convert people away from what they feel is right, i am just repeating what i was told.
cheers

We got her at the pound. Two days later we found out she had pancreatitis (sp). Some bastid dumped his sick dog at the pound. It cost 5K after surgeries and hospital (good bye cruiser mods). Some people said we should just put her down but from the minute we got her she was one of the family. Shortly after her recovery it became apparent she also had heart worm, these folks who dumped her ought to be shot !!! 1.5K later all is well. We've had her 3 years now trouble free. Some day I will save up some money and get those long desired mods on my rig.

I'm not trying to convert anyone either but I totally agree with Wayne on the dry food thing. Our vet swears by that too. Ask yourself "what did dogs eat for the last 10,000 years leading up to processed dry dog food?" Raw meat of course. Whatever they hunted and killed or came across.

Since we switched our two dogs to raw food, their coats are shinier, they have better teeth, more energy, and they can apparently live up to 50% longer than dry fed dogs.

Google "raw feeding" for no small amount of info.

Craig.

Because she's 17 pounds and doesn't take crap from anybody.

The PitBull/Cross Lab is my sons dog Scout... Words of Love from his master, who is 10years old....

WHY I LOVE MY DOG:

1) When I am gone visiting my friends he stays on the couch, staring out the window, whimpering, until I come back.. It drives my mom crazy.
2) He sleeps with me and stays by me when I am hurt.
3) My Mom and I rescued him when he was abandoned. On the drive home he hugged me all the way.
4) When I hug Mom or Greg, he jumps up to protect me.
5) He's the smartest dog ever and he such a cutie pants:D

Gup is the Pug and he is my mom's bosses dog - is annoying... just like my brother and sister. He doesn't listen to me and it looks like he is always laughing at me. When he pees he does a handstand... It is really funny:grinpimp:

Poquita looks a lot like Scout. But when we got her from the pound they told us she was a border collie mix.

Ahhh - so cute.... Our vet thinks Scout could be a Pitbull/Lab cross, maybe mixed with Border Collie, and Springer Spaniel???? Because of the PitBull Stereo Type, the vet suggested we say he is a Lab Cross... However people do notice some pitbull in him..

He is awesome, except for today.. I am at home working and he will not stop whinning... Longing for his master....2 more hours til school is out.

Where the fawk is Eric?

I love the dog for it's natural capability for retrieving the game i shoot. He does'nt complain a bit when it's 20 degree water. He loves the boat rides and my kids. He is one of the coolest animals i've ever owned.......

He is a little bummed out with chat right now. I think he feels that he has been picked on a little lately.

Because no one else is up waiting for me when I get home after the 6pm to 2am shift.

I love my dogs because they protect my livestock from fox's, fisher cats, and other dogs... However if they get lazy and fail to do their job they will be replaced.

Doh forgot the picture

Nice looking dog! What breed type? Looks like a Boykin Spaniel.
I love my spaniel, Scout, for her undying loyality and unconditional love.
