i need to hit my steel supplier this week for tubing that matches the factory pins, i dont want any slop in the hinge set up.

are there variations in 40's door jambs, pillars, hinge location, striker plate location that would make these being a universal fit an issue? I would think not as you can go buy softdoor and hard doors, but those are mass production and....
yeah, I would expect many to need the striker plates and knew about that difference (I knew I would as the only ones I have are for softdoors), but I did not know if crucial dimensions changed..

Since it has been my personal goal to get a pair of tube doors since I first got my forty, I am trying to make this thread the de-facto place to come for information for tube doors. (So, it is pretty complete, biggest and most viewed thread on the topic.) I recently went back and looked through newer smaller threads that have come up and here are the key highlights:
Metal Tech has announced they will be making a run at producing them for the forty, see them here and you can also see them in black here - they seem ready to roll
as we know, 2badfjs from Solid Rock Off-Road also announced a bit back he was going to make a run at producing them. - not sure of 2badfjs' actual time frame
2 different styles and prices, but hey - at least they are stepping up to make something for the market.

Since it came up the Worldwide Off-Road doors, pictured earlier, were a one off set and any further tube doors will have a much different design. They are no longer considering building this style.
Just a note.... I will start producing tube doors in a couple of weeks time. Healthy competition.

so they will be paki doors? any idea of cost yet as that seems to be an important point - plus yours would also have to be imported on top of that, no? what are you basing your design on? post up a design when you can as that may make all the difference. look back through this thread, and the included links, to see what seem to be the popular desired designs (like post #18) and post #55 for attachment idea.
lucky you. I tried/wanted to as well, but in emailing with them, it seems you must have a set of door side hinges to unbolt from your current doors and attach to their tube doors to complete the install. well, I happen to only have soft doors (all I need in SoCal) and these soft doors do not have door side removable hinges, just bent down pins to drop down into the truck side door half-hinge. so, I have not hinges.... and to track down 4 door side hinges would add significant cost (nearly 100$) to an already costly project for me.
