That's amazing Look how far apart they ended up.
Yup, I was pretty amazed to see your vin, what are the odds of finding 2 in numerical order? Best of my knowledge, mine has been a ranch work horse in western MT most of its life. Thanks

Don't know if anyone is still on this post it looks really old. But I just picked up a 1962 FJ40 vin 2FJ40-15292
Oh great, another person to fight with over those rare used parts, haha joking. What's the plan, factory new restore? resto mod? I'm working towards weekend driver, nothing crazy, I have a lots of old barnyard mods to straighten out, but she in good shape for being 60yr old

Definitely can't afford a factory new resto, or total resto, I want to add new and old. But it will be a daily driver for me. Any tips or suggestions you can offer with anything you have encountered would be helpful.

Pictures? Looking thru your post have seen you post a replacement VIN plaque what appears to be a original VIN plaque and a frame with a tag welded on.
already played this game

This looks like a tag with a weld on the end. Shadow look 3D not a flush surface.

Lets do this so you don't keep posting nonsense. The car is in Colombia, I am from Colombia, I will pay for a ONE WAY airplane ticket for you to travel to Colombia whenever you want so you can check the frame number yourself. I like helping people to find peace in every aspect, so let me know and I will make the appropriate arrangements so you are welcomed in Colombia.

Owned my first FJ40 before you were born. In all the years I owned and looked at 40 series Land Cruisers have never seen an original frame that VIN was not stamped directly in the frame.

What is nonsense is the lack of any pictures of the Cruiser itself not just a VIN. It is very possible a FJ43 made it's to Columbia that early but what survived is another question. In the 25 section seen what was left of a 1956 FJ25 in Columbia. Also picture of when the FJ25s in Columbia back in the fifties when an Japanese university was doing research in Columbia. What show of years later was basically a rusted tub missing many pieces. Also seen restored early Cruisers that are a far cry from how they left the factory. I know of one 61 FJ40 from South America that was imported to the US then later sold on eBay and ended up in Costa Rica. Dear there was suppose to restoring for show. I do for sure the bows and soft doors didn't go with it. Those went for sale on Craigslist and I purchased them years ago.

Not sure the reason why you will not post pictures. If it a true survivor you would post pictures.

Should edit, believe it was not Columbia that had the 56 FJ25s. Was a. Different country I believe was further south and west than Columbia. The information is in the FJ25. This information was not mine, just what was posted.
