Owned my first FJ40 before you were born. In all the years I owned and looked at 40 series Land Cruisers have never seen an original frame that VIN was not stamped directly in the frame.

What is nonsense is the lack of any pictures of the Cruiser itself not just a VIN. It is very possible a FJ43 made it's to Columbia that early but what survived is another question. In the 25 section seen what was left of a 1956 FJ25 in Columbia. Also picture of when the FJ25s in Columbia back in the fifties when an Japanese university was doing research in Columbia. What show of years later was basically a rusted tub missing many pieces. Also seen restored early Cruisers that are a far cry from how they left the factory. I know of one 61 FJ40 from South America that was imported to the US then later sold on eBay and ended up in Costa Rica. Dear there was suppose to restoring for show. I do for sure the bows and soft doors didn't go with it. Those went for sale on Craigslist and I purchased them years ago.

Not sure the reason why you will not post pictures. If it a true survivor you would post pictures.
Why do you keep saying thar the VIN is not stamped? What you see around the frame number is excess paint done by the previous owner in a bad paint job, and that was corrected las week. Stop coming into conclusion without even asking and bragging about “experience” In regards to the lack of pictures, If you read my posts, the car is being corrected on some details that are not period correct, because the previous owner didnt know what he had and didnt use the correct details.

In regards to my FJ25, the pictures I posted are from how I found it and previous owners changed many details as everyone does.

You being born before me, and being the “expert” you called yourself, got your information completely wrong. The Japanese University did do a research in the fifties in Peru and not COLOMBIA ( Colombia is written COLOMBIA with an O instead of an U, there is no translation for my countries name in the english language FYI)

Fly on the wall here. @Living in the Past did ask and you seem to be taking a very defensive reactionary stance in your responses. Chill out. You are making a very extraordinary claim with flimsy evidence, i.e. the frame VIN pic that looks sus. You "clarified" that it's just a paint line from shoddy work. Cool.

Looking forward to more pics. Especially of that frame VIN. ☮️

I am not understanding all the skepticism around this guy’s posts. I do understand how he could be agitated by some folks basically saying he’s a liar. What benefit is there for him to lie about this? If he were trying to sell it maybe, but to date he’s just sharing info on his 43. Looks like that VIN on the frame has been masked off through various repaints to me.
