The cold weather has broken lately, so this weekend I got the Pig out for a drive. I took the chance to tidy the garage a little bit and felt a little overwhelmed at all the projects I have waiting for me!

So my question is "when?" When do these projects get done? When do the little parts on the workbench make their way to the Pig? When do I rebuild the knuckles with 60 series parts? When do I actually get her out an enjoy her?

Rant off! Thanks for listening. Just looked around the garage this weekend and thought WTF?!?

Ha, let me know ASAP if you find the answer to this elusive question..

I currently have two pigs, one I keep destroying then repairing then repeat and the other…… well we’ll just say pig number two looks like she’s going to be needy for a little while longer..

When you say workbenches I haven’t seen the tops of mine for so long I can’t remember if they're steel or wood tops anymore.

They're done when the obligatory "For Sale" sign in the window is posted......which is why I intend to never truly finish.
That is well played. Pig restoration is for people who Truely enjoy the process. If it ever were done, then you would think, oh maybe I need heated seats or maybe I should hide a second battery in the rear fender well, or maybe I need a refrigerator hold down or maybe I can hide an air tank in the rear bumper. And on and on until the end of time so the right answer is you will never be done so enjoy the s*** out of the process cause that's all we got!

Hahaha… I understand man. Here's the obligatory…"It's the journey, not the destination" BS.

I agree with all the other comments and also have to remind you that you started your thread with... " I took the pig out for a drive". Your Pig is AWESOME so give yourself a little credit on your accomplishment so far.

Oh I know what you mean Pablo...no rest for the weary, my friend. Now GIT TO WORK!!!

I had 2 Pigs at the same time, briefly. I am pretty sure the wife was brushing up on her marksmanship...

Yes! Sometimes it is the destination. Either that, or I have some mental deficit that needs to be addressed. My little Civic got run over back in November and I want to rebuild that engine and put new sheet metal on the front with my son. Perhaps I should get rid of it, but that car has been my most faithful steed ever, bar none. Don't try to give me anything about Toyota reliability, this car has been great. I just can't ship her off to a new home when she is hurt. (Am I a nut job?) And a little while back I came across one of those deals you can't refuse to get the wife a 325i (BMW). I am pretty sure BMW stands for "Bavarian Mistress W____", not sure what the W stands for, but she sure is needy. Like the hot girl in high school who was high maintenance. So I am learning about those and diving in on repairs and PM. She only has ~125k on her, but she is leaky and needy.

So yeah, I need some cheese to go with my whine... :-)

I would say the "when" is when you have so much junk in your garage that you can barely walk in it... then you HAVE to do something with it and stop gathering parts for a future project.

Fortunately I don't park cars in my single car garage so I can gather a LOT of parts before I'm forced to do anything with them :p

I am just afraid that if something happened to me, they might go into the garage and say "whoa, this would be a great reality TV show! Look at all this crap!"

That is exactly the perspective I needed! Thank you for helping me change my way of thinking!

This sounds like a support group. I'm lost also.

Pick one thing and complete it.

Except that advice backfired last night when I went to rebuild the steering gear on my 40. I thought it would just take a couple hours and now it's all tore apart in the garage with the rest of my mess. It's not together because it didn't go like I thought it would. I thought my 55 build would be done 2 years ago... it didn't go like I thought it would.

Ha ha, that is so familiar! My favorite is when I take on a repair I have never done before. And the cluster of parts and tools gets bigger and bigger across the garage floor. And then I start to think, "I'm getting my ass handed to me here!" That is the exact moment when my wife will walk out and ask how much longer I will be? Too funny!

I'd be more worried about everything being sold for 0.01 cent on the dollar. "Oh, here is some SloCruiser wing window gaskets, first $4.00 gets it":censor:

Regrettably when my wife sells the blue pig for what she believes it cost to build someone is going to get a good deal..

If you guys see it pop up on the mud classifieds for $5000.00 bring lots of cash when you come to pick it up there is going to be lots of good deals going on around here :censor:

Not my wife........she would probably pay someone to take all my "goodies" away, just so the yard and shop would be cleaned up!!
