Kevin- I need to replace a boot on my CV. Let me know the process...

Sounds like an eventful weekend!

My cv. I bent a sway bar link and it tore the boot. Sean had a back up so I replaced it. hopefully I can replace the boot and have it as a spare. Sean ' s third member blew out ( it was recently rebuilt) and Ryan had an electrical issue that blew the ignition fuse everytime he tried to start his FJ.

Wow, sounds like ya'll had a blast. Where did you bend the link? What trail were ya'll on?

Not sure. We got half way through fun run friday night and stuff started breaking. We made trail repairs and went back to camp around 3:30 am. Got up had breakfast and replaced my cv, then Sean's rear. End wouldn' t engage. Later, Ryan's FJ stopped and wouldn't restart. We sent both home on flatbeds.

Final score:
trails run. 0.5
FJ s broken. 3

Still had a lot of fun, just everything went wrong.

If they were on Fun Run and it was wet then I should have been no where near the front........especially if I was low on fuel.

But, by the time SCC gets here, I'll be looking to tackle Fun Run and a whole lot more.........got a locker coming for the front.

Awesome Mike. Can't wait to see that bad boy in action. :)

Me too. Got the front axle rebuild kit in from Marlin Crawler today........there's a hell of a lot more gaskets, felts, seals and other assorted stuff than I would have imagined!

As for the locker, I went with a Spartan Auto Locker. I got it through a Pirate4X4 vendor for only $255 shipped so how could I pass that up? I wanted to get an Aussie but they are out of stock until some time in July and then it's gonna be a free for all to see who can get them. The Spartan is made in the US for a US company so we will see how this works out.

Helll yea! Newlu rebuilt axles on all the 40's eh?!

Going with an auto front locker?!? Por que?

Ordered front and rear rotors today to go along with my new OEM pads. Just gonna go ahead and replace it all and turn the current ones and put them on the shelves for next go around to save down time. Also ordered some misc parts needed to repack the front bearings. Whos up for some wrenching?!?

Sure thing. We can do it at my dads shop sometime soon. My parts should ship out this thursday. I bring in the cruiser to get the rear locker looked at Monday. So not sure when that will be done.

Finally found a place to park it. The rental housing market is ridiculous here in Denver. Hardly anything under 2k/ mo within 10 miles of the city. Damn crazy! But, you all now have a place to crash when you come to visit. No garage though :( Not like I'd fit in one anyway.:hillbilly:

The truth?? Because I'm cheap. ;) Well, that and I have seen all the trouble you and Lance are having with your ARB's. My Aussie has never failed me and there are very mixed reviews about using an auto in the front. But like I said, for $250 I think it's worth a shot to see if I can deal with it. If it's that much of a PITA then I guess I will have to shell out real coin.

I drove mine to work today. That's about it. I did however take advantage of a deal at Sears to ge a set of tool bags for 10 bucks. Half off. Had to join the free club, but it saves an additional 5 bucks on the set. Not bad bags. I needed something for my recovery gear and a smaller bag for some tools I have.

13 in. and 18 in. Bag Combo- Craftsman-Tools-Hand Tools-Tool Carriers

and if you are looking for a set of flex head ratcheting wrenches, here is another good deal if you are in the club:

Good thing about this set is that it has the 17mm and the 19mm. Most sets delete these and have an 18mm instead.
