What year did Land Cruisers come with Cabin Air Filters?

When did Toyota start installing cabin air filters in the Land Cruiser?

IDK year. Or if they even did in the USA.
The info is probably on here but to lazy to search for you if its is on here. The LX's had them from the beginning.
 
I have a 2000 with the slot for filters. Not sure if the PO swapped the housing for one with a filter door, but I doubt it.
 
Ya, its like @Trunk Monkey wrote - it's really hit and miss.
My 1999 had the slots so just had to insert the filters.
If your LC doesn't have them you could just install the kit.
@cruiserpatch has the retrofit kit on his site.
 
LX cabin filters were standard, LC it was an option.

It is a very good idea, to install cabin filters. They keep the evaporator radiator clean of debris.
