What are you guys spending to complete a 1HDT ?

$3700 ish spent at Partsouq for the main two components of a 1HDT, crush washers and o rings:hillbilly:. In all seriousness the money spent at Partsouq would probably not be necessary if I'd have gone with a half cut. It is more cost effective in parts to half cut. Importing the motor was super duper easy though. Getting parts from Partsouq is redonculously easy, paypal, point and click and done, and somehow gets here within a week

Personally I would rather spend extra money for OEM clean new parts than a half cut barnacle from Europe. The logistics (storage transportation, moving around the shop and etc) was also not a strong option for my personal situation. Also did BEBs, pump and injector rebuild which was I don't remember but 2k ish total? So I am probably in for 6k additional not counting massive amounts of cleaning products.

Please fellow mudders, answer the question that was asked or don't post. Stop with the trolling, for those of us that rely on these threads for viable information it's a major blue falcon to add pages upon pages needlessly.

So many incorrect statements from someone who doesn't have an interest in this engine.

I have interest- its simply that we cant get these in the U.S. at a price where it makes much sense unless price was no object.

How much more $$ are diesel vs gasser 80s in Aus or England???

How much more $$ are diesel vs gasser 80s in Aus or England???

An example from recent observation
Fzj105 Petrol with 250k km, $8-10k
Hzj105 1hz diesel, same condition, same km $14-15k
hdj100 factory turbo diesel, same km, same condition, $30k +

80 series are at a lower price point, but the spread across engine types is similar

Don't forget, this is in a market where the diesel variants are far from rare
