LOL, thanks for the clarification. I read the first sentance and was like 'What did I do, and why is he pissed at me?' Then I read on and figured it out.

As an aside, having a beat-up looking vehicle has its advantages. No one parks (or drives) anywhere near me. I usually find spaces on both sides of my Cruiser open. :D

OK.... who can beat that?

I replaced the PS seat because a friend farted in it. My seats had never been farted on before that and I just couldn't stand it.

Another 'Mudder replaced all the things the PO touched. Steering wheel, shifter, x-fer case knob.

I replaced my tYres after parking in Beo's driveway....:flipoff2:

I replaced 2 front tyres because they got tar on them. True and documented story.

so basically, you guys are all a bunch of loonies, is that it...? :D

C'mon guys, its a 4x4 truck. Beat it up, wheel the ish out of it and put it away dirty. Thats what I do and my rig runs great with no HG problems. I change the oil and I juice the tires, otherwise bring on the rocks and the brush. I wash it 2-3 times a year and try to blow the dust out of the interior once in a while. Turn up the tunes and punch it at the light. Just like a woman, the LC likes to be spanked from time to time

OK... here's a good one.

I'm about to put in a new suspension and protection, and I wanted to make sure there were no hidden problems before I started the mods.

I took my 94 to the dealer and told then to work the car head to toe and fix anything that wasn't 100%. They kept the vehicle for a day and a half, and just called me back. They came up dry. They couldn't find a single problem.

tech- that's not OCD, it's LUCK-Y. Lucky because you must have a very honest dealer. You were asking to get &*^$# by the dealer with a request like that. ;)

Alaska - Yep. I knew I was opening myself up, but still wanted the Toyota tech validation. I've "bounced" four or five service writers in the past for recommending unecessary work.

I don't give the dealership credit for it either. I think it boils down to the individual service writers and the mechanics. The dealerships all put pressure on their writers, and some maintain their eithics while others don't. I also think that talking intelligently about your vehicle is important, as they know you have some background info.

Iv'e found that the most honest service writers usually end up fired for not making quota. Hopefully this guy will make it, as he earned some trust on this one. If you go to Poway Toyota for work, ask for Mike.

the only OCD thing I do is check this forum about 50 times a day to get a kick out of all the OCD stuff you guys do:flipoff2:

It's more like a disease for me....at least 50 times after each task throughout the day, hoping there is something new and interesting to read or even better pics to look at. lol

Not really OCD but:

1 - On a rainy day, I always turn off the wipers before entering the garage. I hate the idea of wipers on a dry windshield.

2 - I always turn off headlights before shutting off motor.

3 - when in the garage I always put down the windows to let the vehicle "breath". PO had a dog so that's part of it as in the rainy weather, it seems to be musty.

4 - I follow C-Dan's suggestion of putting the tranny in N, then handbrake on, foot off of brake (to make sure handbrake is holding the truck) then into P. Keeps the pressure off of the parking pawl. BTW - this is how my 16 old son does his parking so he's off to a good start

5 - When getting into vehicle (after wifey driving it), I always have to put away all the crap (pens, receipts & other crap). Cockpit must be tidy.

WOW just like my wife says you guys are sick!!! :D

Lets see the only compulsive thing I seem to do is everytime I get out of the truck I seem to pop open the gas door, turn the cap counter clockwise, and fill the :censor: thing with $70 worth of gas.

"the dirt in the stiching wears them out..."

my seats are 14 years old and the threads are the only thing still together on them! crushed foam and worn out fabric.

ROTFL! Now that is OCD!

I have this weird fixation that I didn't fill enough or overfilled the oil, so I end up checking the dipstick several times over a period of a week after a oil change.

It frustrates me to no end when someone leaves the antenna up when its not being used. I tell my wife..."Do you want CDan's dogs to become morbidly obese?" for the love of furry creatures woman out the antenna down:D

Get yourself an antenna from a '97 and it goes up and down by itself whenever the vehicle is turned off (or on.) 'Course they break regularly and then you don't have to worry about the antenna being left up... it's always down.

Same here, ATF too. And I always look for a curb or rock that I can park against, so in addition to doing the neutral, parking brake, then park thing I can often use an existing chock so I can relieve stress on the parking brake, as well as the parking pawl.
