Canidae All Natural, Human Grade, Holistic Pet Foods. Dog Food, Cat Food, Kitten Food, Dog Biscuits, & Canidae Platinum Diet with a mizture of raw diet as well. Mostly chicken, ground beef, vegetables, and random other things.

Used to use the basic pet store variety stuff but since the switch with my current two dogs I think the food makes a big difference

I feed my dogs Eagle Pack brand dog food. Good stuff. Same stuff a lot of the dogs in the Iderod(sp) race are fed. Its around $35 for a 35 or 40lb bag. It will make your dogs breath funky but has seriously improved my dogs coat and skin. My Brittany has bad skin allergies.

I am using this also now cause my German Sheppard is alergic to everything and had a horrible yeast infection...much better afetr getting him eating the duck food...

I feed my GSD Purina large breed, but have started feeding her meat and veggies. We give the kids grapes and carrots to snack on and she steals them! She loves carrots.

I feed my GSD Purina Pure One Senior Adult

She is 11+ yrs old and is in great health.

However, I just found out today that the military working dogs here all get science diet.

True, but the idea is to feed them something as healthy as possible.

that only makes sense if you plan on eating them later.

A good way to check the quality of dogfood, is look at your piles of crap. If you have huge stinky piles all over, more than likely you are feeding too much "fillers".

With being high quality food, they really only need 3 measuring cups for 100lbs. Higher digestabilty = less poop. EUK is also a good product. I've seen guys work dogs during season hard enough they can't get enough food down. Most of the time, its unburned though. Here's a 80lbs'r that only gets 2 1/2 cups per day. Glad to hear you found a good match for your partner.

After gladly pointed out that Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul had started adding fillers to their food, I switched to Innova Senior. Great grades and my boy Straw is fit as a fiddle.

We have two very different breeds of dogs (a greyhound and a Berner) and it's been a challenge finding something that agrees with both of them and is available in our little town. Right now, we're using Wellness Core, based on the review found on that dog food analysis.com, some poking around I did online, and the fact that our local store carries it.

Before that, our dogs were on Orijen, which was great but is nearly impossible to find within 100 miles of where we are. I think a store near LAX carries it but I'm not braving LA traffic to get a 40 pound bag of dog food. And mail ordering huge bags of dog food is a royal pain (and $$).

We just got back from a long roadtrip and, after running out of food, we had to try to find Wellness at some pet stores in Oregon. Think about this when you pick your dog's food... some of these exotic high-end dog foods aren't readily available in the middle of America and it sucks. And being on the road is no time to try changing your dog's food... unless you want a messy back seat.

On a side note, there is nothing more irritating than wannabe vet, know-it-all pet store owners who take on a condescending tone when you tell them what you feed your dog. I experience this a lot -- store clerks trying to tell you how their latest & greatest foods are so much better than the one you're looking for. I hate it and always get pissy and they always lose a sale. I'm an idiot when it comes to taking care of myself, but I do a lot of research and spare no expense with the dogs... it seems like dog food is such a huge industry now that you can't trust anyone anymore -- the stores are just out to sell you whatever is priciest/new thing they have, the vets are only recommending whatever they happen to have for sale, etc. Do your research and see what works for your particular dog.

Depends on the dog breed.

Our dog is on some kind of weight control gain food from a vet. Its a sheltie and it does not get out as often so thus this is the type he has to consume.

Also, found out he has a affinity for tomatoes and spinich. I wonder if other dogs like to each veggies.

My German Shorthaired Pointer gets Timberwolf Organics and we alternate types - Wild and Natural and then to Black Forest. Henry (the GSP) loves the food and waits patiently every morning and evening for breakfast and dinner time.

I just got a 6month old Jack Russell/Rat Terrier from a friend. They had him on some sort of cheap dog food and I switched him to Iams Smart Puppy. His stools have improved and he has gained just a little bit of weight (he was a bit thin).
