Removed cracked windshield to take to auto glass shop to get replacement glass cut. Will reinstall after paint job is done.

Got the tub painted and raptor lined!
Went with for coats base then three coats of clear. Came out real nice with no dry spots and only one small run on one of the rockers about an inch long.
Proceeded to add a nice coat of tinted raptor liner which also covered well. Spent hours sanding the primer to get a good bond with the raptor.
So i can finally say the tubs body is complete minus a good cut and buff.

Wow that really looks great! Nice job! I just finished spraying single stage on mine. It was my first time painting. I've been doing some wet sanding and cut and buff. Pretty happy with the results. I went with lines. I think if there is a next time I will do raptor. You did a great job.

@btbuild - wow, impressive! What was your wet sand process? Did it remove much peel? I'm torn between doing mine or just running it as is. Only a few small areas with peel...I got lucky!

As far as wet sanding, I'm sanding by hand with 1500 and using the 3m perfect-it. It's a three step process with their compounding pads and compound. I'm very impressed with the product. It took my mediocre paint and made it look sweet! It's a lot of work sanding though. If you have a very little peel I would just call it good IMO. It you did what I did you would have to do whole car.

Im pretty much in the same boat.
Im going to hit it with 1500 then 2k, then maybe 3k then buff it out with a medium compound, then swirl remover. I use meguires stuff.
I sometimes slip the 3k as my old man and 50+ year body man keeps whispering in my ear that back in the day didn't have any of that fancy s***!
. He passed away 8 years ago but is always by my side when I'm in the shop.

Ja, in PDX until the 30th. Went down I5 and then over the Santiam Pass via Lebanon, Sweet Home etc. Saw the 40 in Lebanon in a parking area off main street near a brewery on Main street.
That is certainly a lovely drive. We were planning to come back via Mc Kenzie Pass but it is still closed, so we retraced our steps and came back via 126 - re joining I5 at Springfield.
I've been on a pretty tight social schedule since I got here. Maybe we can co-ordinate and grab a beer together?
I've got Round Eyes too. After reading your post tried their website and saw that they are selling out. Lens guards are probably a good idea I'll have to get some, replacement bulbs should not be an issue, correct? Do you remember what the original wattage is for the hi/low lamp?Recently red that Roundeyes was no longer manufacturing the 7" round headlights, so I decided to protect my investment with some mesh grills.

It's a standard H4 bulb - you can buy them anywhere. 60/55 is the original output, I've upgraded the headlight circuit via relays and the bulbs to 130/90 Hellas - night and day difference in output.
I haven't done much... but it's good to have friends with restoration shops. My 2fe is almost done!
Got a little done, made a gasket for the clutch cover. Don't remember where I got this stuff but, it's got a adhesive backing on it.
Was worried the MAF pipe wasn't going to clear it but it fit perfect.
Sounds really good with that Delta cam and revs quick.

Hopefully something can be worked out for a meet. Saturday and Sunday (afternoon at least) are already taken up. The kids (twins) turn 30 Saturday, and Sunday afternoon my wife is putting together a birthday party for them. But Thursday, Friday, (maybe Sunday morning) Monday, and Tuesday are open. Let's see what can be done. (I am an early bird if that helps you with your schedule)
If you went down I-5 you went right by my place. Do you remember crossing the Santiam River? There is a rest area on the north side of the river. Two miles south of the Santiam I-5 goes over the top of Old 99 and the railroad at exit 238. Most all the exits are go over the top of the freeway, but that one the freeway goes over the top of Old 99 and the railroad. I don't expect you to remember exit numbers, but maybe (just maybe) you might remember the small pond on the northwest corner of that exit. I grew up fishing for bluegill in that pond. Due west of that pond is where I live. If you knew which trees to peek between you can see the house as I can see the freeway from the house.
Going through Lebanon and over Tombstone Summit to get to Santiam Pass is definitely a very beautiful drive, slower because of the crooked stretches of the highway, but very beautiful. Too bad that the upper part of KcKenzie Pass was still snowed in because that is also a very beautiful drive, especially coming down the west side of the older part, just west of the lava beds. Still though, you were able to experience the McKenzie bypass, and the lower part of McKenzie pass. Beautiful in it's own way, though not the same as the upper part.

I agree! I know now that's one job a hate. But it's got to be done.
I chopped off my old CB antenna mount. It had a 1/2"x1" slot and not a 1/2" hole I needed to get the nylon spacer to seat correctly for my antenna, basically it would work loose after a few days of travel... annoying.
So, I lopped off the old, welded in two new tabs to mount my 4' Firestik and my Comet SB-1 HAM radio antenna's. Just gotta run the coax cable now as the radio's are mounted and powered ready to roll.
