Thanks Titan - I found out the hard way last night after looking down and having a pile of aluminum oxide on the floor looking like an hour glass pouring from the bottom. I let it all drain and into a bucket and i'll be caulking and taping all of the seems. I'll try the shopvac thing this weekend as I know what you mean by not being able to see. I had to put a box in the cabinet just to raise the parts closer to the glass to see what I was blasting. - JP

Put original 2F on stand and started tearing down for a rebuild.

I have finally fixed my overheating problem!!! My 40 has always ran warm 210-220 on warm days and I had a fixed flex can with a just ok shroud and a 4 core radiator with a pusher fan that would kick on at high temps but even on hwy it would run warm. So I picked up a Taurus Fan and installed it and just like everyone says.. Bam running cool! But the hwy key was dropping the pusher fan bc it would restrict flow at hwy speeds. It is the obvious that will get you. Also I made some rubber spacers that would force all air in the front to go thru the radiator. I took Thermodynamics and it was easier than trouble shooting this..

Made me an "OH SHIZA!" handle.

- Scraped off all the lichen and moss
- Scrubbed all the hornets nests from inside the gas cap cover
- Derusted and painted the inside of the air cleaner cover
- Put on a couple of new Goodrich ATs (white letters out)
- Reconnected but still trying to understand the spaghetti of emission control tubes(The good news is that I have the ECS shop manual)
- Bolted on some remanufactured front calipers. The discs are new but have been sitting out for 8 years (see derusting)
- FINALLY after 13 years without a parking brake, took it apart and saw it was missing a $2 pin. Done.
- And the drum shaft was fried so I tossed on a new (used) one
- Replaced the rear output transfer case seal

I see contraband hanging on the wall.

I thought a stray bird flew into his shop and pooped on the wall trying to escape.:D[/QUOTE]

I would bet that those Heep grills are trophies.

Like marking your aircraft for victory in combat. Little Jeep grill stickers on the B pillar.

Lol. Yep those trophies are part of a heep graveyard. I hope to earn a few more when the FJ gets done again. :D

I got a little cage work done tonight! I have high hopes to get a little more done tomorrow but the wife said that her and the baby need daddy time so we will see.

Put the u-pol raptor tintable liner on the the under side of the body. Came out pretty good using Rustoleum satin fossil sprayed directly into the u- pol containers!

That looks great! I would like to do that on the inside of my 40 when I am done. You just used rustoleum to tint it?

Yep. I just sprayed it straight into the bottle for about 45 seconds, added the hardener and shook up the bottle. I had no idea how it would turn out and didn't care because it was the bottom. (I didn't care about how the color turned out is what I meant to say) Now that it turned out pretty good, I will do the top side the same way.

don't think you're supposed to tint u-pol with an oil-based paint - let us know how it cures in a couple days - it'll probably be just fine.

Averted certain disaster. Found the crank pulley nut backing out on the 3fe. Torqued it to 253 so it should stay put now.

Spring has finally sprung in Delaware, so Clustertruck took me and the girlfriend to a local dairy farm for ice cream. Roof comes off soon (assuming its not rusted solid)

Uh oh! It's only been 24 hrs but it seems to be curing pretty well. I'm glad you told me that. I'll let ya know how it turns out in a week when I get back home.

Got some new to me (that's recycled for you greens) Goodyear Wrangler 31x10.5r15s mounted to stock wheels. 1974 FST. Thanks to in-laws at Fat Fender Garage, my amigos at Llantera Croix, and a guy on Craigslist, total cost was just $90.
