Nice catch! Here’s a few other interior with the gauges.

That's a nice bandeirante with an earlier Toyota front end/bezel (I could be wrong). I'm pretty sure Toyota Japan didn't do any 4-door 40s but I saw a lot of these in Brazil in the 90's but all with square headlights. I also dig the "FULL" gauge ranging from V to C (vazio=empty and cheio=full)

Breaker 1-9. Anyone have their ears on??

Yep. I installed a CB radio. I didn't have space below the dash for placement so I made a roof bracket out of square steel tubing and installed the radio above the windshield. The Cobra is a 70s retro "Classic" model which I think looks good in the cruiser. I'll connect the antenna to the roof rack and power up the radio tonight.

Over and Out.

When I bought mine, the PO had it mounted just in front of the stock console between the seat… of all the years I have had communications radios in a vehicle, this was quite good. Looks good in your photo. I have an old ICOM 2 meter radio from my ham stuff I will try in that spot now…by the way, did you drill through the roof?

Oops…never mind. I see the bar

Test fit on the home brewed towing (hopefully) cover to use behind the pickup/camper.

I posted this on my thread, but thought the answer might benefit others as well:
So now we’re back top pounding pavement and the other day I had low brake pedal. The point where the pedal actually produces braking force is mostly to the floor. The stopping power is adequate, but far from desirable. Checked the fluid- a touch low, but not the issue. Vacuum line looks good. Pumping produces the desired effect, but problem returns on the next application. This all led me to a stuck caliper. Got out the BFH and “tapped” the front calipers on both sides. Just enough to unstick the offending piston. And it’s all better now. For now….

So this has me thinking about replacing the calipers. More to the point: what calipers do I use? Currently, I have mini truck knuckles, vented rotors and, I think, 4runner calipers/pads. Said calipers had to have the fins ground down for my rims to clear. When I did the swap, it was the hot swap on the LCML. It’s worked well, but I guess I’m wondering what the current hot swap is for calipers?

What tie rod ends and shackles did you use? I want to replace mine sooner rather than later…looking for a couple options.
When I replaced all my TREs, I ordered Beck Arnley from Rock Auto… They were all OEM 555 ends and for an excellent price shipped to Canada.

I’d have to double check, but the TRE that went into the pitman arm on the Scout II box was an 80s Minitruck (81 or 84ish) and it made for the perfect length with the stock relay rod. Exact detail are in my build thread and P/S thread.

Got the new Gozzard side pannels and roof installed, getting readyish for paint. Rad flush and valve adjustment.

Curious about the ambulance doors? Tub has the A pillar flange for a 1/79+. Spare is a 72-74 hard top 72-75 soft top. Neither had an ambulance door option in the US. Do not see a hole for the handle or lock in the doors. Which side opens first?

Late last week the brakes sys was entirely bled (original fluid was 'black' & a new clutch slave cylinder was fitted, clutch is now low instead of high & lighter. This week the EZ power steering unit/new ignition was fitted at my local auto spark they also fixed the washer issue (broken wire) & the horn no longer sounds like a fart in the wind. The steering is vastly improved and at some point over the next few days l'll be picking up newly refurbed 16' steels & fitting the Falken Wildpeak LT 225x75x16 ate3's. Once the all the parts have arrived, hopefully next week l'll refurb the door weather strips & internals & cab weather strips. With more to follow..... the following week.

Look at you and the giant cajones. 😆

My sphincter clenches at the thought of 82mph in a 40
Try 100mph in a restomod 1983 FJ40 5.7 vortex, NV4500! 3.73 gears. I had to do it once to see, having read about 100 mph capable FJ40s. It wanted more, seriously it would have done 120. The cool thing was it felt solid and straight at 100. now I couldn’t hear a thing though at that speed. My Dakota Digital saved the top speed until I accidentally erased it reprogramming the complicated gauges.

Yes it's a bit of a Franken 40, 79 tub with the old tire carrier. The ambulance doors are gozzard too, the hole for the handle is recessed in the fiberglass, I have to drill it out still. Passenger side opens first. I will not be using the spare tire holder, eventually want swingout bumper with room for gas...... lots of gas this 2f is thirsty.

Made my own Nostalgic Jack / Roll Tool Kit for my FJ40.
