Upgraded the ignition.

Still need to dial in the timing a little better, increase the gap on the plugs and connect the vacuum advance.
I suppose I should also try and sort the plug wires a little better. I bought some organizers, but haven't tried using them yet. Anyone wanna share pictures of a well sorted example they are proud of? (I think I might just need to get a kit to let me cut custom lengths.)

The heavy tripod, 90mm lens, one-gallon-Jerry, shovel, lumber scraps, gallons of water, old-school Estwing hatchet, camping chair, thermos with coffee, dried wagyu.

The sound of the instant gasoline-soaked-ignition, and the smoke of its fir follow-up.

The smooth hum of the 2F.

Not bad cow track. I even saw a coyote on the way in.

You’re becoming ‘cruiser poetic’........

Dried Wagyu? Tell me more. Sounds suspiciously like biltong to me.
It isn't. I put on a pair of leather work gloves, then I held the end of one of these over the kinda smoky fire to infuse some smoke to the liquid tallow of the beef. Mine was vacuum packed, so it isn't really cured. Nothing can substitute real curing. Wagyu Beef Snack Strip

It is a shame that cultured foods are so misunderstood. Like, you get saltpeter-free pork because nitrates have an (unsubstantiated) bad reputation, 'pickles,' are most often just canned cucumbers, not pickled at all, etc.

Hey Kerplunk
Here's my DUI wires. I ordered the Live Wires from Performance but I thought their choice of lengths and straight vs angled connectors was flawed. I had a discussion with someone at Performance and he pulled a set off the shelf for a look. He agreed. He let me design and my own set and he made them up at no charge. This is how they came out & I'm pleased.

EDIT: Since this post got quite a few likes I figure there's interest so I made a separate post "HERE"

I agree that we have unlearned the pleasure of properly prepared cultured foods. Short cut factory made faux food is often so bad that if one knows what the real thing tastes like you just have to stop eating it. Happened to me with bacon in SA and I had to set myself up to make my own or go without. The wagyu stuff sounds nice, I'm going to try and get some.

I must say that I dislike hog-rings. Not a fan. But it turned out reasonably well, better than the green bus-seat vinyl that was on there before! The grey is almost black, this is a very subtle two-tone, and I think I like it. I temporarily reinstalled the rear jump seat belts that the PO moved to the front when he removed the hard top. I'll get some 3-point belts soon, and then I can save the OEM rear belts, YAY! Now I just need jump seats :hmm:

I saw for the first time this morning the cruiser corps jump seats they are now selling: Rear Jump Seats - Pair - FJ40, BJ, HJ Series 1958-1984
