Finally installed the Euro-spec mirrors I bought from City Racer about 3-4 years ago. Don't know why I didn't install them then; I was busy I guess. Anyway, they were packed away in the move and have been sitting in a box. My stock mirrors never stayed adjusted no matter how much I tightened the little screw in the ball joint. They pissed me off again, so I went through the shop where all our house stuff is stored and found the "Toyota Parts" box that the new mirrors were in. I'm going to like these; they have a big spring tightened by a 12mm nut to keep them from moving in the wind at warp speed. And the color (black and really dark charcoal gray) goes with black trim color scheme.

Finished up my cowl vent with the oem clip nuts and 316 ss #8 x 5/8 sheet metal screws. I coated the inside area with POR 15.
Modified a couple of switches for my new '73 dash. This is the headlight switch. It is unique in that it has a 90 degree switch function on top of the 1, 2 pull out positions. The 90 degree switch is for the parking lights that can be turned on independent of the other lights. I'm using the parking light function for my dome light. It comes standard with 8 wires, I removed the 2 that I wasn't using and mated it to a 6 position plug. The Toyota headlight knob fits like stock.
I had the standard 4 position rotary switch for the A/C like the vintage air system uses. I never liked it. I found this earlyish (68-72 I think) headlight switch will work. It has a parking light contact that is on in the first pull out position but off in the second. I used the running light contact for the compressor clutch, the parking light contact for Lo speed and the headlight contact for Hi speed. We'll see how long it holds up.

I also found some of these interlocking ring terminals like Toyota used for various applications in their wiring harnesses. I plan to use for terminating the fusible links at the battery.

Using a 3FE exhaust manifold? I'd like to get one for mine some day.
Painted the last bits with black monstaliner. Assemble it all back together and thrash the hell out of the truck in about a week.

My wife’s old aunt stopped by unannounced today with a cat thinking my son or I would put it down for her. I’d previously told her it was illegal and we wouldn’t be part of it.
I was so pissed I had to get out and distract myself. With my seeing red I managed to remove the ac pump and bracket, and the PS/alternator bracket with a regular 15mm open end/box end and a small sledge.
Now I can really start figuring out engine placement. I’ll probably build my own PS and alternator brackets after I figure out which crank and water pump pulleys to use. I just learned there are three different types.
The LS is a 2000 lq4 from a 3/4 ton truck.

Yes, my original EM was rusted out, so I thought I would try the 3FE, since it was about the same cost as a replacement and I need a new entire exhaust too.

Ordered a new Tercel power steering conversion unit to replace the one I have. The one I have is from PO and it’s installed incorrectly and the adjustment arm is snapped off - pulley rusting - needed time be replaced. Got it from ToyotaMatt - my favorite aftermarket Toyota parts dealer..
What would rest on that?
