Machinist finally finished the block. Liners installed, bored to Std and polished the crank. That means It’s time to assemble. Cleaned the block up, chased threads, etc. installed new std main bearings, new std thrust bearings, crank and girdle.

Shop progress for 4x4 projects?

Can’t work without tunes.
Made this half wave dipole antenna for the shop stereo out of an old yagi antenna I found in the attic, some scrap conduit, and an old satellite dish base from the roof of the house. Picks up all kinds of stations now with much better clarity.

Getting ready for our upcoming trip to Moab and a buddy mentioned that I might think about a hitch skid plate for the Tacoma given the overhang and low lift. I looked online and got some ideas then searched through my scrap pile.

Not my best welds since one of the 120v legs to the shop is currently dead (just another thing to add to the project list). Double passed the hitch to plate welds and with a couple of gussets it should be strong enough for this trip.

Bought it. Lifted it.
Got hit by a distracted driver about two weeks later. It had 1500 miles on it.
It may be at the body shop longer than I owned it ;—))

Man that sucks - The newness wears off quickly after that. I picked up a screw in my tire in the new Tacoma on the way home from the dealership in November.. had 20 miles on the odo and had to take it to the shop.

Pulled transfers out. Ordered seals.

It's breathing.. Not really alive just yet.

Stretching its legs out in Moab with @Cruiser Bauers and many others at Cruise Moab. Hit Fins and Things, Top of the World, Porcupine Rim, Onion Creek, Fisher Towers, Thompson Canyon, Polar Mesa, Shafer Basin, and Fallen Peace Officer. Plus toured all the back roads of Arch’s and some other stuff in Canyonlands. Amazing how fast time flies. Too many pictures to post.

There’s was some careful planning involved to make the :princess:’s happy without frightening them too much while still having some fun.

You align that beast.... ya guess 1/2” movement would be noticeable and cause for a look.
When putting it on the trailer last time I noticed one tire was a good inch further away from the front of the trailer than the other
