And replaced a MAF sensor that acted up during the cold spell last week. It took a day to track down a too rich fault code with both LTFTs stuck at -30% and still barely making 8 MPG. Had no vacuum leaks, fuel pressure at 44 psi, all plugs tight but the MAF sensor looked like it was reading a too high airflow and slow to start. Only replaced the MAF sensor and the truck ran great again today. Hope it stays this way:

LS donor first fire, wouldn't stay running as we didn't have a key. Had ECU flashed at the tuner shop on the way home.. Stay tuned on Monday and it should be Running, running.

Anyone need any 2006 Chevy Tahoe parts? Killer 22 " rims. Wonder if they fit the 100!

Weve been steady tinkering on little things and it goes to the shop to get is new engine this week. It's all hooked up ready to delivery. Weve got the bumper, winch, & ARB lift kit for when the engine work is done. The 9th grader scored come quality used tires and prepped/painted/cleared the factory wheels. Shooting to have it back on the road before school starts so he can mosh in the HS parking lot.

Well it has been a minute.....well 2 years but we are finally gaining....the replacement & rebuilt engine now has dedicated attention towards reassembly and the drivetrain should go back in very soon.....then all the other stuff should go on soon after. Not that a broken LC should keep me away but looking forward to engaging in 2024!

Update: The powertrain is back in & cranked on the first turn of the switch. We still have A LOT to do. On the TO DO list is 4" lift (everything is broke loose), front clip, Seeburg muffler & cat (thanks thieves), calipers & brakes, rear hub-seals, detail the interior, & install new stereo/rear camera. We are closer than we have ever been in bringing this beast back to life.

Stay Tuned,

Another 80 Series saved from the crusher! We are so happy to report that it is back on the road. We got it buttoned up just before our son’s 17th Birthday. We can’t wait to catch up at a meet and talk shop about all the work we tried to do and all the work we had done. Still have the lift to do and reseal the Birfs but that we can do in the driveway (Minus the HOA guardians). Really lookin forward to it!

So today we took apart the passenger door and repaired the regulator mechanisms . What I assumed was going to be stripped gears was simply a knuckle coming out of a track-ball, reinserting the glass in the drive frame gasket, and modestly straightening the inner most track frame. It was a good tinkering project for the high schooler and now the window works as it should/way better.

Another big weekend of tinkering! We chased down a blown fuse for the EFI, went ahead and swapped the fuel pump, changed the vacuum hoses on the fuel regulator, put the rear interior back together, and scored an abandon 80 series project for a song!!

Yea the HS auto shop teacher gave up on it. I had sent an email because it’s been sitting for nearly 2 years. It’s ROUGH, out of my league for work required but a ton of parts and complete. White LC back on the road and about to head out for a float trip!

Looks ready! You available for the fall event at SMORR?

I hope so, all depends on kids sports stuff. Is there a date out there? I’m also anxious to go down and do The Loop at the lake.
10/4-10/6. Some arrive that Thursday night

Couldn’t decide if it was an exhaust leak or just the fact that I sit on top of my engine, but I think I know the answer now…. Also upgraded the old ARB compressor. Bought a clone off of Amazon, we’ll see how long it last….. all it controls is the rear locker, so hope it lasts for a while…
