Glad you’re ok. Quite a hit.
Thank you! Only my pride is hurt right now. His old nissan Frontier has some front quarter panel damage and a blown tie rod.

Then it will probably fix if there is no engine damage or frame damage.

On hard hits like this the decision to total takes in consideration down time and rental vehicle expense. If it's close to totaling, and you want it fixed, you could pass on a rental car so that it does fix.

The decision to total is strictly cost-based. There is no sentimental value clause. :)

glad you're ok. i had a similar situation but less severe accident in Jan that took out the bumper skin, a headlight, fog light and v minor damage to a fender. repairs came to about $3500 but the biggest PITA was not being able to get into my preferred shop until June. fortunately it was drivable so no rental. i get it back on Tues. i contemplated a bull bar replacement but would have needed a new, painted bumper anyway just to get the fill in panels for the bull bar so i opted for just stock bumper for now. hope your repair can proceed a lot faster.

Thanks. She's already at the Toyota repair center, estimator is coming out Monday. I don't see how there is possibly 90k+ worth of damage, especially if suspension/engine/airbags/frame are all intact and uneffected.

Hoping my insurance will also cover the PPF & ceramic coat film I had put on my vehicle, but I'm not holding my breath.

For a bull bar, I'd probably go with a full dissent replacement vice their low profile variant, but unsure how much I'd have to pay out of pocket to upgrade from the standard bumper skin.

the bumper skin (unpainted) was surprisingly inexpensive - about $350 - so the cost differential with aftermarket replacement is high. the headlight though was $1760!

Ran a few trails yesterday in Big Bear yesterday with Southern California Land Cruisers Club, many trails including Snowslide and the first half of Little John Bull, these Michelin Defenders are holding up great, did get some sidewall damage that exposed the cords (no damage to cords and tire held air) (should of aired down more) but all in all fun time!

Changed the oil pickup tube in the pan as its plastic and car is 13 years old. Well it looked brand new offcourse...but for 30 bucks something. Intersting that about atleast 1/2 to 3/4 qts stays in the pan and spills out after you remove the pan... Replaced the oil filter holder aswell nothing woring with tha one either... well atleast i got spares :)

Why? Risk of leaks from the pan is much higher now.

Hit 170,000 as soon as I pulled into my driveway. Had 45 mins before dinner, so promptly did my oil change, switching over from 0w20 to 5w30.

Those disparate tire pressures would drive me crazy 🤪

I know. It's probably just me...

Preparing to do globes and add sliders.

Looks taller already.
