Just got back to civilization and reception. Worked better than I had hoped on its shakedown run. Lightweight, high clearance, and had no issue through the rough and tumble desert washes and washboards. I can't commit to drawers as I need the car for varied uses including 3rd row. So this made for easy accessible storage like camp kitchen stuff. Great for cooking a hot lunch for 18 on the trail.
I'll write-up more later after I unpack a bit, but here's a snap. Epic weekend overlooking Fish Creek right at Diablo Dropoff.

I got the kit for the two differentials and the transfer case:
- 12157-10010 TAKES QTY 3 TWO FOR REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND 1 FOR FRONT DIFFERENTIAL
- 90430-24003 TAKES QTY 1 FOR FRONT DIFFERENTIAL
- 90430-A0003 TAKES QTY 2 TRANSFER CASE

I tested the dual 5dBi roof antennas using the Rocket M2 with MIMO against a 17 dBi Yagi antenna connected to a Ubiquiti Bullet M2. The source Wifi was too weak for the iOS devices to detect.
The dual roof antennas were positioned perpendicular to the source, and the Yagi pointed directly at the source. They both performed about the same, receiving the signal in the low 70-dBm range which is very good.
Greased the SPC UCAs today. Used Valvoline grade #2 and the best upgrade was using the locking tip. Should’ve upgraded earlier.
Finally acquired the TJM front bumper for my 2013 and got it installed. (Although with some issues unfortunately)
I got my 2013 from New Orleans last year and brought it to Michigan with virtually no rust on it. I took it to a professional place last fall and had them apply a petroleum-based rust proofing chemical. It still looks good, BUT I bought a case of Fluid Film and used 12 cans to re-coat everything, as well as spraying inside of all the body panels, hood, doors, tail gate, etc. No way am I letting my truck rust.
The only downside is my wife and daughters are complaining about the smell. My 13 year old says it smells like a combo of B.O. and livestock, which is about right.

Got my LC undercoated with NHOU at a local shop. This is going to be an annual occurrence to keep away the winter rot.

BTW - I applied it last year before Fall Crawl and the mud didn't stick as much
I changed the oil and filter today on my 2008. Used Kirkland 0W-20 oil and OEM filter. It all went OK. The big win for me was finally getting the front diff drain and fill plugs out and getting the diff oil changed. I have not been able to get the fill plug loose since I've owned the rig, despite trying a few different tricks. So today, I gave each plug a shot of Kroil as a long shot. I was able to then get them both out! Surprised me. I did also hit the drain plug a few whacks with a hammer.
Replaced the drain plug with the hex Lexus plug:

Pressed in new LBJ’s, installed new end links, and put in some SPC UCA’s. Getting the old ball joints out took a little persuasion with the torch.

Nice work, any tips or gotcha moments with the LBJ removal /install process? How many miles did yours last before they needed to be replaced? My driver side boot is leaking some grease.
I just hit 120k on my way back from Moab. I started hearing clunking noises coming from them. Use PB blaster on them a day before you start working on it. That and the torch made it happen. The pitman remover tool or pickle fork is needed to take the cradle off the LBJ. Also don’t forget the 6pack, 3 during the job and 3 once it’s complete

Finally installed the Hewitt SAIS bypass kit, good lord what a PIA bear of a job. It is as bad as described to access the valves to plug the kit in. Installed the block off plates too which was moderately difficult.
Installed all new headlight bulbs, had a low beam die, went with the Hikari LEDs.
Cleaned the throttle body and MAF sensor. Supply chain issues on that one, local Autozone was out of MAF cleaner called 4 other parts stores near me all out. Scored a small bottle double kit of MAF and throttle body by CRC at Walmart. Still have a touch of roughness at idle but it's better. Plugs got done at 160k ish so, at this point looking at an ignition module or something who knows. All the O2 sensors probably need replacing too.
Really hope my SAIS codes go away I do NOT want to have to go back in there to install pressure sensor bypasses, yeesh.

Installed new OEM rotors + Tundra TRD pads on the front today. I did the same pads and Stoptech rotors about 50k km ago, and by now the front pads got down to about 6mm, all of them had significant spider cracks, and the front rotors were warped. Will see how the OEM setup lasts!
Ran the McCullough Pass Trail from Boulder City (near the Hoover Dam) to Primm (CA/NV border)
The book had it rated as a 6 but I would give it a low 3. Not sure if improvements have been done since it was written but a pretty easy trail.
