Did my 430,000 service, oil, fuel & air filters, used the Fuchs 5w40 super syn. Changed my ball joints, couldn't get 555 this time round so went with Fabest upper and an Indonesian Lower set... will see how long these last on our potholes... found my steering rack bushes completely shot when putting the front wheels back on so removed them and pulled the rack, sent it off to Metalflex to redo the bushes... that's now sorted... next I need to sort my sump plug as it has a small drip... need to re thread it but best to remove the sump and I really need to find someone on mud that has fixed this before me...

Love it. Buddy has the otter and I really don't see much difference. The blowup hard floor was a little of a disappointment. Was hoping to not have to spend the cash on the casting platforms but the floor just wasn't good enough. I've got a casting platform on the front now and it's perfect. Rear platform coming soon.
Installed new upper and lower MetalTech control arms due to blown rear bushings. also washed and waxed it!

Replaced my power steering pump. If it wasn't for the Florida heat & humidity would have been a 
job. Never done it on a LC/LX so it took 3 hours. But one of those hours was spent going out & back to a parts store for new clamps to fit the suction hose. Followed the FSM, but if I did it again, no need to remove lower engine covers, but would add in the need (on my 2000 LX anyway) to remove the upper appearance cover so the plastic tubing leading from the air box to the throttle body can come off.
Is there a law like Murphy's Law that says one can never preassemble all the bits and pieces needed for a job - no matter how small?

He probably would but it isn't cheap! About 2x the cost of other commercially available units. I wanted something unique and custom built to my specs.
It is based off of a custom build I saw on here, with a few tweaks to make the winch more visible and accessible. SS black oxide coated button heads are on order from McMaster to replace the SS ones securing the winch fairlead panel to the bumper.

13 months into ownership with zero history and buying fluid 10 months ago, I finally got around to changing the front and rear diffs and transfer case fluid with M1 75/90 LS. I've noticed in the last 1k miles feeling the rear diff chattering while turning and on throttle and figured it was time. Changed them all. Transfer case was overdue but diffs looked good. Rear diff chatter immediatly went away and everything seems smoother. If you haven't done it in a while, do it.
Who ever reccomended puting all the gear oil in a 1 gallon bug sprayer bottle and pressure feeding it into the filler holes, I owe you a beer or 12 . F hand pumping that junk. Pump the bottle like 10 times and push the trigger (take the sprayer nozzle off) and just let it flow.

Oil change to Mobil1 Synthetic.........after accidentally pulling the transmission fluid plug instead......soooooooooooo....a transmission fluid change as well. DOH!!!!
I feel like we could be related or something. This would be one of those smooth moves that I'm known for.
