It’s a wrap 🥃
Aiming, alignment and wiring done. 4x low beam 4x high beam.
No foreground or wall pics yet but all I can say is I am blown away with how NHK master-engineered these projectors. Every aspect of it from how bright, how wide, how defined the cutoff is truly a masterpiece. I’m a happy camper. Haven’t drove this thing for 2.5 months now and I just can’t wait!

Glass HL w blue lens quad bi-led projector.View attachment 3316613
Happy weekend everyone.
Can you supply a list of what you bought along with links!? This is definitely something I want to do as my LX470 factory lights are so bad.

The 3” NHK Series 5 bi-LED projectors came in this afternoon and I went right at it. A few days ago I also repainted the front grille and HL trims, got them buttoned up along with the HLs (glass lenses off) for tomorrow’s aiming, alignment and wiring session.

Also ordered new 4pcs OEM backside clips for the HL trims, the old ones disintegrated when I removed the trims, it was so brittle.
I really like how that late model grill looks painted body color. Any shots from further away? I've been thinking of buying a spare grill and painting it like this for a while. Same color as yours.

If this is your first ever retrofit project, I wouldn’t recommend plainly because of the ton of work required lol.
Not discouraging but just giving you a fair warning that may cause financial distress lol. There are a couple of alternatives to get a great HL setup, send me pm if you’re interested and I’ll be more than happy to answer your questions.

• Headlight housing w/ glass lens - eBay (there’s a couple of hits you can choose your preferred seller).
• 3” and 2.5” bi-LED projectors are NHK brand (Japan) - available in Amazon, eBay, Lightwerkz.com, etc
• Low beam bracket (outer position) - from Lightwerkz.com
• PPF on the lens - XPEL brand (amazon)

Thanks, yes it will definitely look great and make your cruiser new again. My grille was previously painted in black and it just didn’t grow on me. I stripped that cheap looking paint, sanded down and leveled all nicks and scratches on the plastic chrome. Once all smooth and perfect got it primed, painted and 2k-cleared. I will try to post some photos soon.

That's hilarious, but I'm sorry to hear it! There's not much worse than breaking a rattle can in your workspace.
About as bad as a fire extinguisher going off in truck while driving

Several lessons were learned that day.

The best part was getting my hands clean. My boss saw the paint under my nails that Monday, peeled off a $20 and told me to go get a manicure lmao

Didnt want to spend 5 bucks for a special fitting. I'm a pipe fitter, so this is good in my eyes. :hillbilly:

Gave it a 90 elbow so i can get more clearance when I get my aux battery.

You’ve marked it as your own 😏… hallmark of your trade!!!

If you spray it down with Boeshield T9, it will stay corrosion free for a long, long time…

Lots of little stuff this week because work was crazy.

Added ye olde LX sound insulation strip along the front of the back door. The lower front door strips and the fender side ones are still on order.

Swapped out all the old cracking vaccuum lines for silicone ones.

Also, because I was having issues with the new radio I went in and swapped all the temporary wire screws out for more permanent butt connectors... only to realize that the issue was a bad usb cable. Definitely not mad that I was able to make the connections more secure, and get a pic of all that went into merging the Miratowa and Metra harnesses...

Oh and I finally got around to changing the oil. 2k unnecessarily dangerous miles later lol.

And you will need all of the clearance you gave yourself there. Actually, wish I had thought about that with my install. Nice job!

Love the blue hoses. Going to need to do mine soon. Any chance you have a link to your source?

Making a simple drawer system for my 2nd 100. Made one a couple of months ago for my LX450. Something I really enjoy doing. May crank a few out if there is any interest in the Midwest. I'll update this thread with the completed project when the hinged wings are on and its carpeted.

Of course!

The best part is that there's plenty of hose left over to do the same on my other car too. The only downside is that there are a couple hoses that have different size fittings on each end, so you have to pick a size that's snug enough at the small end and then apply some good old fashioned elbow grease to the other side. Also, that may mean some of your clamps wont fit, but I always have worm clamps on hand.

How was that install? What was the cost of the MC and where did you find it?

Install was very easy. I just gave my mechanic $350 and a day later he told me to come pick it up. If anyone is in the Dallas area should check out Mayo Automotive, very good dude and does great work.

Awesome! Appreciated the info

I had the flywheel cleaned up for my future swap. The machine shop owner said he had never seen a flywheel design quite like this in his 50 years in the business.

Before. It arrived pretty crusty and I was concerned it might have been too far gone to reuse.
