Replaced my rear door speakers last week, and just now finished up the fronts. Took WAY longer than I had planned but relatively simple. I used Infinity Reference 6.5" components in the rear doors and woofer/tweeter combo up front. Previous owner replaced fronts with Kicker CS component speakers, and they did not sound great as front woofer replacements. They look brand new so I'm going to hold on to them. So far there is a massive difference in overall quality and range.... I'm pretty happy for ~$200.

While the door cards were off I also changed my speaker grill fabric with this in black:

Getting ready for a paint job. Stock colors with Raptor Liner on the bumpers and sliders (and maybe on the side moldings and below). More pix when done.

Catching up on a previous post about a rear diff light staying on. The problem was that I had disconnected a sensor wire and had forgotten to reconnect it. All is good now. I a nice man dropped off my Slee Diff Drop a couple days ago, so will be getting ready to install that.

Looks great and a simple way to refresh things. Would you mind sharing a link or brand/part info? I'm thinking I'd like to do this as well, and also potentially replace the mounting bolt that has been subjected to the A/C condensation runoff and now is so rusty that it looks like it has been at the bottom of the sea for a decade. Does anyone extend the hose on that runoff pipe to change where the condensation comes out? Seems like an easy fix; just simply redirect it.
This is what I got.

What size are your tires? Looking forward to seeing it after paint.

Replaced the steering wheel with something sportier, it's a little thicker and feels great. Good deal for $249

Also did the JDM rear wiper, other one can't seem to stay at a parallel level to the windshield bottom and drove my OCD nuts

Where did you get the rear wiper? I've looked and can't find a JDM one anywhere.

Was scheduled to get a new OEM TOYOTA windshield this morning (surprisingly my insurance company approved the $1K cost for genuine TOYOTA and I have no out of pocket on glass), but understandably, Safelite wants the rust addressed first. So I got some estimates and scheduled the work to be done.

After the windshield is professionally removed by Safelite, the collision shop is going to sand down the rust around all four corners of the opening, treat it with POR-15, and then prime, paint, and blend it. I also asked them to paint the rock-chipped grille winglets. $535 is what it’ll cost me. Sure, I probably could’ve gotten it cheaper at some hole-in-the-wall shop, but good work isn’t cheap and cheap work isn’t good.

What look like grind marks are apparently some jack hole’s carelessness with a knife edge to remove the moulding and treat the rust prior. I have the receipt from the previous owner and he didn’t spend very much to address the rust then. It shows.

Finally fixed my Drive/Reverse clunk.

After cross country trips, I bit the bullet and replaced the aftermarket CVs with OEM Toyota axles. At the same time I had the front wheel bearings replaced and the front diff support bracket replaced (using OEM part with the integrated bushing). I wish I could say I did these repairs all myself. $2300 parts and labor for a Land Cruiser specialist to replace the CVs with OEM, new bearings and new diff support. It was not an easy pill to swallow, but I believe their labor charges were fair and I sleep well knowing it was done the right way. With one CV boot torn flinging grease, and the other boot heavily cracked plus a vibration around 70 mph that was not tire related - it was time. With the repairs above, all of these issues are gone. Hoping this is the last set of CVs this truck will need, and I will rebuild if needed from here on out!

PS - previously, using advice from others on this forum, I drew a chalk line on my CVs and pointed a camera at them while I sat parked, engine running and shifted through DNR. You could see and hear the CV move and clunk within the drive flange. That is how I knew the source of the clunk on this rig - plus a friendly point in the right direction from Ryan at OTRAMM.

This week's tasks include:
[] Mobile One and filter change
[] new OE fuel filter
[] cleaned/inspected injectors
[] swapped non functional electric fan and housing with OE mechanical unit
[] replaced OE MAF( Mass Air Flow ) sensor
[] new OE spark plugs

Remaining tasks include:
{} service/replace wiper water pump
{} swap OE non Nav stereo aftermarket unit( multi disc CD player erratic ) with bluetooth option
{} install steering wheel cover
{} replace driver seat cover

Replaced 21 year old tech with some new. Biggest PITA was the splice into the parking brake switch. Once I pulled the front seat, it went much more smoothly. Swapped the OG front door speakers with a pair of Kickers, and honestly, the old ones were right there with the new ones.
The new HU definitely puts out more sound than the old, even with the old speakers.
