ew Weathertechs for the front and the YotaMD/Ram mount. Also had to have leaking AC line replaced and recharge system.
Ordered new set of AHC globes from IMPEX

Finally getting around to assembling a set of @cruzerDave ’s KISS drawers, that I’ve had sitting in a corner for a while…

The plywood rail template tool is pure genius!

Got my LC back from the shop- knock sensors, valve cover gaskets, fuel filter, plugs, cabin filter, oil. Not cheap, but worth it to have a shop do a baseline. Bought the rig at a "discount" from the seller because of the CEL for one of the knock sensors. Drives significantly better now

Not sure if this will stop air going over vents, but willing to try it to protect the new condenser.

drove it today no real difference at all with that aluminum grill

Quite funny how the 100 series AC system still, varies quite a bit between ice cold <-> moderate cold over the course of a drive.

Not saying I'm dissapointed , the A/C is superb now, but just stating that there seems be no set cold temp when adjusting the AC knob. It appears to vary with whatever is happening within the system. (Air over condenser or whatever is going on).

In my wifes 2015 suzuki vitara you adjust the actual degrees in celcius and the A/C will stay at that temp.

I thought this was an effect of old/bad components, but seems like its normal behaviour for this system. Doubt it could be air trapped in the dryer being this new and having been vacuumed by professional shop gear. Anyway, I will no doubt by the 100 series thermo fan at some stage and see if that can stabilise it!

Mounted a Warn from my other vehicle behind the Landcruiser factory aluminium bullbar and added some 9" retina burners for the deer and kangaroo sightings. Need some spacers or longer springs, plate and winch weight has dragged the nose down

Today was my Sunday this week, so after a quick MTB ride I was able to knock out a few small items on my list-

Just now replaced low beams with Sylvania SilverStar Ultras and fogs with Phillips Crystal Vision Ultras- Had a Sylvania/Phillips combo in my previous DD and it works very well where I live. Just under $50 total on Amazon. The old bulbs were installed totally wrong- not sure what the PO was thinking but they were twisted in with only one or two of the bulb tabs . Explains the bizarre light pattern lol. I'm not the biggest fan of LEDs. 9005 bulbs showed up mangled so I'll take care of that later.

Brushed and sprayed the small rust zone behind the driver side mudflap that I found when putting on the LCP mudflap delete panels. I'm sure others have experienced this so I'm not too worried. Also ordered new front parking light bulbs (after prowling the forum to figure out what that light was) and heater Ts.

Overall I'm super happy with the condition that I bought the LC in, and the GF loves it so that's a win.

With the women out the house today the boys and I set out to finish the ARB front bumper install. I installed it Monday, but was unhappy with the fit. Worked on it for about an hour after work on Tuesday with little improvement. Finally got it right today!

It took some redneck ingenuity in the form of 3 ratchets straps ran down from my front deck and an old climbing quick draw. With my makeshift crane in place I loosened every bolt and got it where I wanted. I then tightened everything back up using the surefire old German torque spec of "gutentight". (no torque specs from ARB) I think I settled on 55 ft-lbs or every thing except the two bolts into the face of the frame rail. For those I used the Toyota spec of 43 ft-lbs. I also drilled and pinned it as I'll be adding a Ramsey winch once I rebuilt it.

1 day after acquiring my LX470. I bought a $12 dual USB port that doubles as an FM/BT transmitter. Now I can stream music, it was driving me nuts that I had to spend at least $100 to get some device to integrate the BT to the factory ML system. $12 and I’ma happy camper.

also noticed that the previous owner swapped out the factory headlights with aftermarket ones with those halo and didn’t even bother to wire up those halos. So note I’m on the hunt for OEM headlight assembly. If anyone in SoCal wants to swap factory for these units let me know.

Put new hand brake shoes in.
Had to swap back to OEM dog bones as I couldn’t get the rotor back on with extended ones.
Old shoes were unevenly worn. Seems to be a lot better but not 100%. The stoppers are right at the end of their travel.
Shoe lever seemed too loose when springs and cable were disconnected.

I’ve got the cable a bit tight at the moment so stoppers are off the plate.
Not sure if I will need new cables.

K so talked to ex toyota mechanic last night. He mentioned TX Valve, but when I told him everything is new, he said wait a month.

Seems to think the refridgerant not cycling as it should. Idk maybe under-filled? over-filled? Will post back if anything significant comes of it.

Bed platform 90% complete. Need to build a collapsible extension to reach over the middle seats. Took a slightly different approach than what I’ve seen on here. Used slats rather than plywood and built in two overlapping halves so it’s easily removed and very lightweight. Cord with cam jam tighteners at the corners hold it down sufficiently. Left just enough gap that the side storage areas are accessible.

Finally got my Ironman 4x4 installed. Added their 7" light so I don't get scared in the dark. Settled for the Harbor Frieght Badland Apex 12,000 lb winch.

Still need to figure out the best method to get the height back from the droop. Already torqued OME torsion bars.

Ms. Betty your Cruiser is looking spiffy! To reduce the rake, you might have to re-index the torsion bars. A simple process that takes about an hour!

Picked up the beast on Friday and today went off-roading with my friend who owns a pretty well modded GX470. I was a little apprehensive at first as I was rolling with stock street tires. But as I gained more comfortable with the truck and after riding in my friends GX I have to say that I’m really impressed with the AHC. It seem to feel a lot smoother and less jarring than his OME setup. I can’t imagine what this thing we’lwill be like after getting wheels and tires put on

Got rid of squeaky front brakes.

Installed some rebuilt calipers, new OEM pads, shims, spacers, clips, and all the OEM brake trimmings with some SLEE stainless brake lines.

Toyota pads are FG. That's about as good as it's going to get without kicking up a lot of dust. It does stop better at high speeds now..
