Spent the last week wrapping up the stuff below. The timing belt appeared to be original, the tensioner was rusty and leaking, old wp was weeping. Started with different rattles up front just getting worse and worse, she's so quiet now, Steering seems better more responsive with the new idlers and tensioner. Night and day difference, wish I had done this off the bat.

tb & wp
fan bracket
fan clutch
radiator
rad hoses
alt brush
serp belt & tensioner
oil change & filter
Solid

Recoating (repainting) front side of diff, after cleaning off layer of built up oil/dirt residue while changing the lower radiator hoses. Cleaned this with degreaser and wire brush then hit with hose few days ago.

Wiped down with clean rag and Wax & Grease Remover first. Next, coated with deoderised fish oil, waited an hour, then hit with cold galvinised black zinc coating paint. Think I'll do atleast 3 coats. No idea how this will all work out, but I know the fish oil adds a waterproof layer between metal and paint (even with light rust on base metal). Should be fine enough to keep it protected for years, reverse side seems fine. Might change the colour eventually to suit the rest of the undercarriage, way too black but atleast covers up the metal the wire brush chewed into. Going for a long trip tommorrow south, will need something.

I have the same (with synthetic line). Used it to drag logs without any issues. Looking forward to recovery use.
same. synth line, and same for my previous. i just couldn’t justify the $2500 warn price tag for something i might use.

in all the time i had mine on my tacoma only used it once to drag a jeep on 22’s through the woods after he drove 20 miles in 4lo redlined.

hey honey let’s take my jeep on 22” forgiato’s up to the mountains and explore. what’s that smell. oh it’s just melting metal in my trans.

Does it smell like fish tacos? Deoderised? How do you take the fish out of fish oil?

Smells for sure ! Didn’t put it under my arms man 😜

Finally mounted my second dissent swing arm with accessory tray. Found a secure way to mount 3 jerry cans in preparation for a 1000 mile trip tomorrow. Didn't notice till now the second photo is blurry.
The rear light bar is an led blazer unit from autozone wired into the trailer 4 way connector.

Mine came with this, previous owner used a cheap chinese aftermarket birds nest instead of an original high quality Japanese birds nest. Nothing like reaching your hand down to clean some straw and leaves and breaking a fertilized egg in your bares hand.
