My wife had the GX460 for a few years, I have an 04 LC. The GX was the "family car" it was nice but I was never so happy as when I got back in the 100.
Oh and I never liked the barn door.

Well I was sitting at a stop light after picking up my daughter. heard the brakes lock up behind me and felt a decent thump.

This is why I drive a car like a Land Cruiser. My daughter asked me what happened.

Glad no one was hurt.

Besides the bumper I didn’t see anything wrong underneath. Going to get it checked out and now get to deal with insurance companies.

Anything I should pay attention to?

Anything I should pay attention to?

Yes, sales on rear bumpers from Slee or Dobinson ;)

Are you posing with customer's Paarsh again?

Tried to start the truck this morning after it has been sitting the whole weekend and it won't start! The starter turned with gusto but no joy! :dead: Unplugged the gas line coming out of the gas filter in the engine bay and then cranked to see nothing coming out!
Since my fuel pump is relatively new, I decided to unplug and plug back the fuel pump relay on the left side D pillar - still nothing.
Open the main fuse block, took out the EFI relay and the 20 Amp fuse, both looked good visually so plugged them back in. Turned the key and it fired right up!
No clue what's going on here, perhaps the square seal for the fuse panel cover is in need of replacement and is letting moisture and dust in?
Sounds like faulty fuse , old replace with new and should go away

While we’re talking adult s*** like kids seats any reason why o could find the latch system on my first passenger row
seat? The single seat on the passenger side not the driver side with the middle. Found both of them. My single seat doesn’t have that leather cover thing

No latch system on that seat. Perhaps they were thinking it’s the least likely to have a child seat mounted to it since it’s the third row access, but kind of a dumb call if you ask me—thank goodness there’s still an anchor in the floor behind it for a seat.
Although, speaking of those anchors, I sure wish they’d put those in the seat backs (a la our Volvo wagon) instead of the floor. What a pain to work around three child seat straps when trying to pack the truck for camping....

There’s only one anchor though closest to the door though right?

No LATCH anchors on that seat at all--you have to install the child seat using the seatbelt (pull it all the way out and let it slowly retract and it'll lock, making the child seat pretty secure). The anchor I was referring to was for the rear strap of a forward-facing child seat. There are three of these anchors, all tucked away beneath carpet tabs in the rear cargo area about 8" behind the center of each 2nd row seat.

I use britax car seats and the seat belt and that thing doesn't move at all. Most secure car seat I've owned. They were almost $500 each but we'll with it imo.

Transmission flush finished
  • Clearly had been done once before (no crush gasket on the drain plug....)
  • No slippage after driving, feels quieter, everything nice and smooth
  • F/R differentials and transfer case next and then I'm done baselining......

So jealous of all you guys that live in the mountains and desert. I strongly dislike California for political and lack of crowded nature area reasons. Would love to live in Colorado, Wyoming, or Montana. Sorry not cruiser related

CK RTT and Slee skids and sliders.

Swapping the 18” Methods to 17” Icons this weekend. Other than lockers and a light bar next year and installing my Warn Zeon Platinum 12-S when it gets delivered next month this thing is pretty much done.

Oh, and if Slee ever releases their revised 100 rear bumper I’ll add that too.

Oil change, when from 20W-50 Gulf Western and backed it off to 15W-40 Valvoline XLD premium (mineral). New oil filter, replaced old sump plug washer with new fibre one.

No idea why such a thick viscosity oil was originally being used in this car when I purchased it. Want to try get some better starts and fuel efficiency bcos ATM, chews quite a lot fuel. Perfect time to test being winter and colder. Will monitor for oil leaks.

Gear oil and transfer case to come next, deciding on Mobil 1 75W-90 all round, or go with Penrite by the service manual specs.

This the original oil sump plug gasket?
