This current project has dragged on for weeks. Spent lots of time gutting, cleaning, removing useless wiring, running new wires for speakers, fabbing an amp mount, removing rust/painting parts, cleaning carpets, and applying sound dampening. Really got kind of boring, and everytime I looked at the car, it felt like I would never complete this one.

So today was a great day. Finished up the sound deadener and composite up front and got the carpets in. What. A. Difference.

I went with B-Quiet for the materials. Price was right, and I love that they're upfront about their acoustic specs. Took way too much research to find Dynamat's specs. If you're telling me you're the best, but hide the proof, I'm not about it. Heck, turns out this stuff's specs are comparable to or even better than Dynamat at certain temps. So no brainer. Did the Ultimate and covered it with VComp.

And may I present what appears to be wiring for a Viper alarm system, a hardwired radar detector (that the PO kept the good parts of), Sirius XM w/ FM transmitter, and who know what else.

One of the google search can be why did I get
I just bought a kit from them a week ago for the rear suspension. Looks like they jacked up the prices and now are running the promo. I got the kit for 229 $ and now its for 267$. I still could have save 30$ but I guess it is too late now.

@Usterzai I would email them and check if they would credit you the difference, since you bought so close to the promo starting? No biggee if they can't retroactively price match, but worth a shot.

A little late to the party but over the last weekend I completed installing my Ironman 2" lift kit.

IM TB
IM Shocks
IM Springs
Control Arm Reinforcement Brackets
New OEM Tie Rod Ends
Lower Ball Joints
Trail Tailor Extended Sway Bar Links
Trail Tailor Diff Drop

Do you have any pics of your amp mounting by any chance? Mine is kind of jenky right now. It's on the list of things to go back and do right, but as AvE says, there's nothing so permanent as a temporary fix. 😃 I had decided that I needed to do some carpet cutting to get it to sit down far enough to not interfere with the seat, and then it was late at night and I stuffed it in there. Six months ago.

I already did lol, I hope they credit me the difference. This happens all the time. I bought a sled diff drop and a week later TT had their diff drop on sale.

This will definitely be a multi-day project. The old axle is out, which wasn't hard at all. I did have to rotate my tires to get the c-clip to let go first. A 3lb mini-sledge and big brass drift made it easy.

Lower control arm is off, old bushings are out of the frame and LCA. I've wire wheeled off the rust and painted it. Tomorrow I'll install the poly bushings, reinstall the LCA, then install the new axle, gasket and flange and put everything else back together.

While the LCA was off, I drilled the holes for the tbar reinforcement bracket too, then took it off so I could paint it.

My dogs wanted to be in the garage with me, but wouldn't lay on the dirty floor, so I opened the truck and they slept in the back while I was drilling and cutting out bushings.

Man your LX looks amazing. I desperately need to have a good detail done lol.

Had my steering rack replaced. I'd done the bushings around the new year, but the rack gave up the ghost after a pretty gnarly trail ride. Got the part (Toyota part #, not Lexus) for $666 and paid my Lexus tech buddy $250 to install it at the dealer. Win win win. He did discover a leak in my 2 year old radiator (suspected, but never ran very hot), so I ordered a new CSF and will try that dance out next week. Fingers crossed.

Also had my buddy @JT4runner over on Saturday for a paint correction. A recent trip to the mountains yielded me a ton of new cosmetic character. It's cool to an extent, but I'm not into a rough looking daily driver if I can help it. Did some Alabama pinstripe removal, wet sanding, glass polish, and finished with 2 coats of ceramic coating. She turned out beautifully!

What axle did you go with?

I'm not sure if you mean you're replacing the differential seal along with your new axle, when you say gasket, but if not I would definitely recommend it. It's pretty easy to replace WYIT, and a super bummer if you have to pull your axle again due to it leaking.

I agree with you, but it appears to be in excellent condition with no signs of degradation, so I'm going to leave it where it is. I plan to lock this pig in the next year or two and if it's leaking then, I'll have Slee replace it while they are in there.

That's what I was afraid of... only $400 each lmao.
Bell Lexus of North Scottsdale shipped mine (2) all in for $802. I got on their mailing list and often get 10% off. Bought w/ a 15% one.

I went back and looked in my email, that is what I paid for two axles from McGeorge. I guess I was thinking $430 because that is what Toyota Parts Deal has them listed for.

Installed the factory USDM roof rack. It’s nice to finally be able to grab onto something when washing/waxing the roof. Also installed the cargo cover. It’s grey and doesn’t match but I can live with it. Thanks @DrDenge for the flawless transaction
