Started the running board removal. Pax side took me an hour. Removed one nut holding the little shield on the ac lines so I could push it aside to get the front bracket off. Didn't need to use a flex socket extension. Especially with this rust bucket, eye pro is essential.
I like it, but my 5'5" daughter may not.

Getting it prepped for repairs to my rotten quarter panels, wanted to pull off the lower cladding to make sure everything was solid there. It was, but the thin sheet metal mounting panel is dissolved. If I put this back on, it will be all 3m tape. Or I rhino line the bottom.

Cleaned MAF sensor and throttle body finally, after having it on my list for months...
And installed Owl Expedition extinguisher mount—sooo sweet. Thanks, @Ramathorn15 !

having major photo orientation issues lately—sorry!

Nice install. Your enclosure is exactly what anyone that’s trying to do aftermarket subs without losing a ton of space should do. What material are those door mounts made of...they look good.
Thanks -- this is the only configuration that I would consider, because I wasn't willing to sacrifice any interior space (except for the use of the left 3rd row seat, which I don't care about).

I can't be 100% sure what the door mounts are made of since I wasn't in the shop when he installed the speakers. But I believe he used thin layers of MDF or a similar wood composite. That's how most of the sub box was built too, to minimize the use of fiberglass.

Fixed a couple of Christmas Eve highway windshield rock smacks with permatex 09103 windshield repair kit. Worked ok, would do again if small (under 1") and out of line of sight. (If you are trying the same - I found that the resin needs about 50 min to cure before you take the plunger off the windshield, when it is about 50 deg F outside, rather than the 20 min. suggested in the instructions.)

Just got back from being overseas and came back to a bad battery. Just replaced it with a yellow top Optima. I haven't run one of these in years and I'm anxious to see how it holds up to the factory LX/Toyota battery.

Where did you get those battery terminals?

I changed the oil and air filter, greased up the drive-line, then treated her to a day of fun in the snow. I think chains are next on my list...

Less air in those tires and you will be shocked where you can go.

Dang. I want some too

Got tired of waiting, I really want some too. Looks like these.

Edit - Aaaaaaand I already bought some. If any one has some extra self control hit me up, I'm severely lacking.

@LXstatic , loving the no-side-trim look.

How did you close up the trim mounting holes? Looks great!

Looks sharp! What convinced you to go with those tires? I'm looking to get a new set myself ('02 LC), seeking feedback. Cost/tire?
I have the same tire on my 2016 4Runner in 285/70r17 and I like them, so I decided to try them on the LX. They ride pretty good, I paid $1,147 out the door w/ the extended warranty on them. If you buy these tire, get the warranty b/c this is the only tire Nitto doesn't have a guaranteed mileage b/c it's a new tire.

Before you spend money on chains, I would try a bigger lift with flares and 38" AT405s at 3 psi first and see how that goes
