Also, after stuffing about 4 feet long stripping of 2 x 2 inch dense insulating foam around the blower motor area behind the glove box, I still definitely get cold wafting out from the passenger footwell.

I am getting desperate now. Perhaps the next step is to pull the dash and see where this sucker is leaking from. It just seems silly that a truck of the caliber of a freaking Land Cruiser will fail on something basic like this!

With this issue, its basically unusable for roadtrips in midwest winter :bang:
A leak as large as you describe may be easier to spot when looking at the firewall from under the hood. Check where the heater hoses and AC lines pass through (they pass through at separate spots, so check them both) - there should be some sort of foam/seal sealing them off. The foam should fit tight against both the firewall and the lines. Also check (wiggle) where the various wire harnesses pass through the firewall - those rubber boots can sometimes come loose and not be super obvious.

Towed my Dodge Challenger to the Buttomwillow Raceway.

Finally got around to replacing LBJ with Sankei 555 and an OEM CV axle. Both the ball joint and axle had torn boots. This was my first time undertaking a project like this, so it took quite a bit longer than expected. Huge, huge help from MUD threads and a couple of useful youtube videos. The snap ring on the LBJ was probably the most aggravating part of it all. There was also no hub flange gasket - just some black silicone from previous owner, so I'll be tearing slightly into it again when it comes in.

I was not planning on doing the passenger side LBJ since it appears to be in fine condition, but do most people recommend doing both at the same time? Next up is power steering hoses/fluid.

Changed my low-beam-bulbs to Philips Racingvision. Looks like it is a fair bit more powerful than the original bulbs in my Depo-headlights.

Also changed my parking-light-bulbs to some LEDs I got from fleabay. They look very good, with the same color-temp as the glow-bulbs it replaced, but slightly more powerful. 4xT10 194 168 W5W COB 2W LED Glass License Plate Light Width Light 12V WarmWhite | eBay

I also cleaned out my aircon with some foamy spray, and installed new filters.

This is very good suggestion. I have already checked on the wiring loom without finding any issues. I will check the a/c lines and heater connectors too but whats perplexing me is that putting it on recirc stops the cold flow altogether!

My money is on the joint of air inflow box and the ac condenser box being leaky

Yesterday mounted @TRAIL TAILOR hidden winch mount and recovery points. And, two or so weeks ago, mounted his front extended sway bar links, which was sooo easy I did the rears the same evening.

after a Christmas road trip will start fiddling with the winch itself (comeup 12.5) and figuring out where to tuck the solenoid.

I have to do the same thing. You do it yourself or have someone do it for you? Curious how much it’s gonna set me back roughly

I had it done. Some of the bushings required air tools that I haven't invested in yet. Parts and labor all together were about $1300. That was with a discount on OEM parts and labor for a Lexus tech off-duty.

So I notice that it is much more responsive to the steering input and there is a lot.less wandering at highway speeds.
Now if only I could figure out the cold air issue in passenger foot well, I'd be ready for a road trip

Sounds like a passenger problem to me 😄

Replaced rear O2 sensors in the hopes that an increasingly frequent 0430 (and rare 0420) finally go away. So far so good, but long-ish highway trips usually coincide—I guess we'll see Tuesday if the sensors do the job. Denso 234-4154 for both, OEM fit/finish.

Another vote for buying California trucks if you can manage—it took only 20 minutes to replace both. (If you're not counting removing the Slee belly pan. That part of the job SUCKS.)

I know it's a bit late in the game, but did you check to make sure that the sensor behind the small grill on the left side panel (below the steering wheel) has the white plastic tube attached? (the system draws air through that tube and sensor to monitor the temp) It sounds like you're having a problem similar to what I was experiencing awhile back. (or make sure the sensor is clean)
