I hope to bring it to a Club meeting sometime to show it off to y'all. I can almost never attend them as I'm on a non-profit board that meets most second Tuesdays of the month but one of these times I'll manage it. I'm sure there would be some appreciative folks in that crowd.
The September meeting is on a Saturday, and there's food and giveaways.

@MTMarcoux sniffed me out on the buying/selling/trading thread so-

Welcoming to the family my new (used) LX450. Seems to have really good bones, really clean and bone stock.

Gold emblems! and of course the gold tailgate ‘4WD’ badge is gone.
Just about everything works, drives great.

Interior was not abused and in pretty dang good shape for 247k mi and 27 years. Got the front seats out to cleanup some old coffee spills. Not much trash at all down in there.

More to come as many parts are inbound.

Thanks to the great @bagochips76 for a sweet deal and the 450 headed to overland cruisers next week for a lift and tires.

i was wondering if the request of the 80 series parts was your subtle way of telling everyone

welcome to the LX club!

I’ve had a few ongoing projects over the last couple weeks. Rebuilt the starter, new speedo cable, and installed a new bumper and winch. Still need to wire up the turn signals, and finish installing some speakers and a head unit.

Rebuilding a M8 for the front tonight. Decided it needed to be tagged as well.

I think it was around 01 I had the truck rhino lined. Has held up well for a long time. Some day though I’ll need to cut the quarters out to repair again. I know much more now than I did back then as far as fixing the quarters.

Just completed the DIY spare tire lift, using spacers on the spare crossmember and hoist to tuck the spare up in there further. Also removed the receiver hitch, busted some rust and rust converter/paint job.

Prior to reinstalling the above, I decided to remove rear bumper and bust more rust on the frame. Ran out of weekend so the bumper is currently in pieces in the garage.

There are a lot of bolts involved, nearly 40 between the spare, hitch, and bumper. Only broke 4 which is nice.

This includes running board bolts which I broke at least half.

just got back from a road trip with Sam and his 55. midwest visiting relatives, only excitement was the alternator froze up in downtown sigourney iowa in front of 2 parts stores only problem was it was sunday afternoon. a local stopped to check on us and had us go to his place where we took it apart. after pulling the alt. off his jeep only to find it wouldn't fit he started call buddies up trying to find an alt for a sbc. he took sam and off they went to some local farmers shops and looking thru their parts rooms trying to find one. after finding one close they came back and with a little creativity got it to fit. went to start it up and nothing was happy. by now it's almost 10 pm and tearing into the wiring trying to figure this out. after almost giving up hope i had kept saying it had to be a ground but everything seemed okay. starting at the battery they tested the neg cable and it was good till they touched it. a friggin parts store cable that had been on for years wasn't crimped on the end that bolts to the body, only thing that held it together was heat shrink. when they disconnected the battery it worked out of the plug and only had intermittent contact. problem solved thankfully. so monday morning to the parts store and decided to get a new alt and grnd cable. hour later and everything was back together . still doesn't have panel lights but he'll figure out what got broke when he took the dash apart. was a fun trip and the fact that the alt gave up in a town instead of out in the remote parts of nebraska and wyoming we were heading for was unbelievably fortunate.
in case you didn't realize it but a vehicle with a stoker engine isn't the most economical way to go on a 2000 mile roadtrip. these old cruisers sure brings the best out of people when you have issues.
Here's my PSA for this week since it's fall and the wasps are everywhere. If their dillywackers are bent over they can't sting you!! you can go to the window and pick them up and they won't be able to hit you even though they try. try it, you will be amazed and if you are so inclined can get free drinks in the bar by showing people how impervious you are to wasp stings

Big weekend for the cruiser. Started the first few steps of my build finally. NST 1.5” body lift, BMC, front bumper, and winch installed. Still have some tidying up to do with the bumper but very happy so far.

Going to likely start a build thread at some point mostly for my own sake of keeping track of everything.

First steps done but with many more fun goodies to come 😳😏
