I've read through the FAQ's on engine oil and still looking for a little more info.

I'm in the Denver area and looking for some similar climate input on what oil you are running, and why. Oh, and while you are at it, what is your oil change interval?

I'm planning on switching over to a synthetic soon and I'd like to get it right the first time. Thanks for any input.

All year 10/40 Castrol GTX Every 3,000mi ('93 253,000+mi.) Abouut Mile High Where i live.

During the warm months: 0-40 Mobil 1, 10K interval (oil analysis suggests I go longer)

During the cold months: What are those? I'm in SoCal.

Unfortunatley we can't all enjoy your balmy year round temps:flipoff2:, I too would like to be strolling on the beach on Coronado Island whenever I got the urge!

I'm in SoCal, too. In the winter the temperature can go down to the 20's. By the way, SoCal gets snow, too. :D

0-40 M1, year round.

Canadian Tire's Nugold. Only the best for me.

Just use water, it's cheaper and works better.

Seriously, Mobil 1 0w-40 or Shell Rotella Synthetic 5w-40 will both work perfectly for ALL climates, from -20F to 120F. Below that Mobil 1 0w-40 gets the edge. As far as interval, for ease of tracking, just do it every 7500 miles.

Another recommendation of Mobil 1 0W-40 year-round. With a 60/40 mix of city/highway driving, I change every 5k mi., but I could probably take it out to at least 7.5k mi.

mobil 1, 5-30, 7k interval highway miles.

PO only uses 5-30 Mobile 1 Syn every 10K(mostly freeway), and new filter every 5k.

I will probably do similar or shortern the interval.

Mobil 1...currently the 10-30 variant, but I've used the 5-30 as well.

I swap it out every 7 thousand miles...or there abouts...

Running fresh Delo 15w-40 every 5,000 miles or so. Bought it with just over 200,000 miles. Just got back from a rough trip in Moab with no problems at all.

For those of you in cold climates, you should not be using a 15-40 oil in temps below 30f. Switch to a 5w or 0w oil for winter.

Mobil 1 0-40 year round in texas

Rotella 5w40 Synth year round at 5k intervals. My motor LOVES it. And don't forget the big Toyota filters (15600-41010).
