OK, now i understand...thanks. All of us would love to own on of those but as a collectors mindset why spend that kind of money on a piece that is not going to be as desirable like an original which would do nothing but appreciate and become more rare as time goes.
Now If you just have tons of cash to play with then of course buy one, wheel it, drive it everywhere and enjoy it. That looks like what the truck was designed for, tough but what modern tech...or just to be plain cool.

I do believe that's the case here! BTW the Icon's are on back order if that tells you anything!

Got my panhards done this week!

Ted Weins Automotive here in Vegas did the work. I think they did a good job!

Here's the front.

Here's the rear.

Now the front tires are in line with the rear on both sides and alignment is done too! Drives sooooo much better!!!

On another note...I want to go to Cruise Moab this year and I missed the registration dead line! Do any of you know someone that has a registration that wants to sell it???

Great thread bud, keep the pics coming!

Matterhorn Trail in and around Valley of Fire!

What a wonderfull day we had Sunday!!! Couldn't ask for better weather and all the desert flowers were in bloom!

Many thanks to Michael Voegele for leading the trail in his Icon!

And many thanks to Paul Aguirre and his friend Ryan for coming along and taking some good pics!

The Matterhorn trail is a part of the Logandale trail systems in and around Valley of Fire state park!

I had 3 passengers...Helena (my Biological Mom that I searched for and found almost 19 yrs ago) and her 6'9" husband Bruce and of course my wife Amy!

So the panhards are not adjustable, right? just lengthened? Looks like it will work.

As for Cruise Moab, I'm not positive but I don't think that registration has been filled completely. I know of a guy that got on a wiating list last week and got a call the next day telling him he was in. My guess is chances are good that you could still get in.

This was the first time Helena and Bruce had ever "really" been off road!

I can't tell you how many times I was asked "are WE going UP THAT???" or "we can't do that!...can we???"....ect!

Nor can I tell you how many times I heard, "OH FOR HEAVENS SAKE!!" or "OH MY GOD!!!" or "OH LORD HAVE MERCY!!!"....ect!!!

But at the end of the day the smiles tell it all! :D

And that's the end of this trail....we took the wash trail out and i15 back to Vegas!

There will be more so keep checking back!

Yes just lengthened! Once you know your not changing your suspension any more you can just lengthen them for good!

I cut and sleeved it using DOM!

durangodds (mud name) is selling me his! So I think I'm all good!

Thanks for the heads up though!

I've got'a see these trails! Post up some pics! Or a link or something! I can't imagine that they are tighter than the trails I use to run in GA, AL, TN, SC & NC!

Not trying to dig up an old debate, but here are a couple pic from Saturday. You can kinda see how tight the trails are in spots.

Creeper, those are cool pics! I can feel your pain man! That's very similar wheeling to what I did back east!!! And that's exactly why I wanted on exo when I was there!!! But hey if you like having your tail lights busted out, body panels crushed/replaced with a non-matching panels...I don't care, knock yourself out dude!!! Besides, no matter what you do to an 80 they are still beautiful and fun to look at!!!

Please don't get me wrong...that's GREAT wheel'n and I do miss it but it's been real nice to wheel with out mud for a change!!!

BTW I forgot to mention...my new springs functioned perfectly!!! It felt like I was crawling over obstacles in a big mechanical spider...metaphorically speaking of course! :D

Thanks Dave (tan-jeep) for the hook up on the springs man!!!

It's official!...I will be at CM09!!!....Thank you Durangodds for selling me your registration!!

Ever since I got into this crazy sport (1989) I have always wanted to go to Moab!!! Living on the East coast made that a difficult dream to attain, not to mention expensive!!!

Needless to say I'm quite excited!!! [Ace Ventura voice] "This is my Grace Land Sir!!"

And it almost didn't happen....my wife lost her job last week  so a trip to Moab, spending much needed $$$, was not an option!!

Here's where it gets interesting....Helena & Bruce (visiting from AL this past week end) overheard my wife & I talking about Moab and how we didn't think we could go now!!.....

And I couldn't believe it!!! They totally surprised me with the CASH to go!!!:bounce2::bounce2: So a very big THANKS to Helena and Bruce for that awesome gift!!!

Now I just have to get there:hillbilly:!

Slight Transformation...

Several people have said that I should paint my exo another color. I like the hammered silver but that color is very simular to Aluminum!! Many people have said "that's aluminum so it can't be very strong"!! And I have to explain that NO it's NOT aluminum it's STEEL that's just the color I painted it! So I have decided to go with black and that will fix that problem. Plus it makes for easy touch ups!

So here's what I got painted yesterday.

So which looks better?...the silver or the black???

IMO I like the black way better :D Seriously steps it up notch on an already sweet exo. Dont get me wrong the silver looked good, but that black creates a whole new look!
