What do you carry in your 80 for Repairs & Recovery?

Better prepared than not because accidents do happen. Just a good piece of equipment to have in the back. For me it’s a peace of mind having my trauma kit with me. Here’s the kit I bought awhile back. Don’t mean to hi-jack this thread

From where? I wouldn’t know how to use all that stuff.

Several firearms, first aid, x jack, oba, tools, snatch strap, something to lay on, spare clothes hot and cold, spare pair of boots, binoculars, mini stove, 3 days of Mountainhouse meals(for one, i bring more if wheeling with others), water, fuel, spare tire, flashlights, sleeping bag, fire starters, chair, tent attachment for my awning, electrical tools, spare wire, heat shrink, and spare nuts and bolts. Im sure im missing many things that i have in it.

Ill be carrying more when i get my spare on my bumper. Cannot wait for that day.

It’s a stomp kit. Was 250 when I got it. I’ve since added some things to it. I’m a med student so most of this is 2nd nature. Most of the items also have directions on the packages lol.
So you want us all to carry that and use it? Ya know, just in case?

You might consider going for a wooofer cert, maybe WEMT. The presumption with both is that help is not nearby; very different situation from what standard training covers…

Nice kit but this is about Repairs and Recovery for your rig not you:)

I maintain at home not on trail. Always have jack and fadtory tyre tools with a t plug set. 10/12/2-14 mm wrenches(drive shafts) 2 1/2 in. for batt clamps. Allen wrench for diff plugs trans etc. 2 Phillips drivers small n large mostly for doors n windows and such. Tool bag that lives in truck has tapes rat straps choker chain hatchet 12in. Hand saw extra work gloves contractor garb bag 2-3water bottles length of rope. Small pouch of nails spikes10or so small nails(cotter pin sizes)small first aid kit with scissors and suture needle and thread. Also mini pliers(fish hooks)suturing in extreme Emerg only!! Tool bag has test lite some butt connectors stripper/w cutters and fuses15 amp for sure for electronic fuel injection. Spare 1057 bulb. All that stuff adds up to little$. Add in booster cables and bug lotion and some wipes for sanitary purposes couple of lil Kleenex packs. (Your female pals will appreciate that)
That stuff is ALWAYSin my 80. Plus 1lbs dry extinguisher and heavy duty ARB strap and hard ware.
The rest of the gear is trip specific. Ie trail
Mntc trip =chain saw spade more spikes etc
Expedition=cb radio installed hi lift jack attached come along extra winch cable 50mtrs 11mm climbing rope climbing harness and belay equip if I feel it mite be handy.
Walking fanny pack= hi energy candy(m diabetic)fire start gear blast match Silva compass flares char cloth Swiss Army knife lip baulm gps extra batteries trail marking tape pak Kleenex. On pak waist band small sheath knife and largest bear spray can get in pouch. Small head lite and h held led f lite. Also some $ incase is needed. Eh buy fuel from farmer or other no debit machine.
Personal pak=extra gps candy granola bars pencil wallet water bladder etcetera depending on season always a whistle to.
In truck=tarp bed liner carpet piece stashed compass flash lite gran bars candy winch control cig lighter fuses ltr oil 2 tins of alcohol gel fuel(winter only)cell phone charger and xtra battery cable ties wrap of mech wire area maps. Hiway and topo. Small air compressor with prs gauge.
Equipment depends on season and expect level of isolation. Snow shoes, trac pads at the beach claw pad when ice fishing 5gallons water in hot weather etc. an ice anchor for the winch if on an Ice Road. Think before you drive drink after you drive.
I also travel with my pal Chloe. 100 lbs of German Shepard so that means food and water for her, folding dog dish etc.
Prepped like that I'm good for most every thing that comes up. Getting prepped is half the fun but even in an 80 series there is only so much room. If I'm prospecting that adds more stuff that has to fit in. Try to minamize everything you can and being organized is the key for me. Good luck with your kit. Mine comes together after 35yrs of wheeling and some true f ups.

I keep a cellphone, a gerber multi-tool, and some ratchet straps for hold things down in the back. Oh, and a quart of whatever she is drinking at the time like ATF, CCO, or Brake Fluid.

Yes! Forgot at least a quart of the slick stuff. Im out right now, time to restock! Currently im on engine oil and power steering fluid.

Too true 2 hours on trail can get you way into trouble.my worst stucks have come from short drives where I made bad decisions.

Tie rod ends, hub studs, spare rear driveline, drive plates, knuckle studs and trunion bearings, various bits of hardware, Rescue Bit in RH and LH rotation for broken stud removal, anti-gravity XP10, STARTER, eng ecu, vafm on top of the basic relays, fuses and fusible links that can leave you dead in your tracks.
