I have done the passenger side too many times to count. It isn't so bad since I just left the heat shield off. The driver side will be the problem for me for sure.
The wind has started to blow, that just might be a good enough excuse to put this project off until Tuesday.
I'm not sure. The reason I am doing headers in the GX is because the pass side exhaust manifold keeps breaking. It is a bad design.
I haven't had a problem with the LXs. There may be a small leak on my built LX when started, but with over 350,000 miles all I can hear is piston slap for about the first 30 seconds.
Half way there! Did the driver's side because I heard it was more difficult than the other side. It is! I'm sure I have said it before, but I HATE working on the GX.
If you want to put headers on a GX I recommend that you buy all new studs and nuts. After I got the easy nuts off the driver's side I was having problems with the socket slipping off because it couldn't get the correct angle. I went to using a socket made for rounded nuts and no more slipping.
Well, I finally got the last nut on the damn header. The driver's side will make a preacher curse. Fired it up and it died the first go. I guess it needed to get used to the extended sensor harness and moving it to a new place. Second time she fired up and idled nice and quiet. No more leak. Very noticeable difference in midrange power. Must not notice the missing cats, because it hasn't thrown a code. I'll drive it more tomorrow.

They were not engineered in China, which at some point is all I care about. The modeling, simulations, drawing redlines, and critical design reviews weren't done in China. I understand the implication that having parts manufactured in China may (and often does) lend itself to things like changes in tolerances, but for a company like this, I am not concerned.
Had a helluva time removing the stock center skid plate when I did the exhaust on the GX because it was so bent up. I have no idea how she did it, but I had to cut it to get it off.
I bought the cheapest set of skid plates I could find on the internet with free shipping. They aren't real thick, but she really doesn't do much wheeling. About an hour to install this morning. Got it done before it started to get hot.
