What did you put in your military trailer today? (1 Viewer)

I fell one monster like that a few years back. Seemed like a good idea until I started loading the rounds solo. Then I realized what a mistake it was. I had to build "stairs" into the bed of the trailer and kind of roll them up.

We cut all day Sunday and got 7 cords. This pic is one load. We sent the wives into town with the trailer to unload and get supplies while we kept cutting. We camped Saturday night cut Sunday and stayed Sunday night as well.

Do you offer some sort of wife/firewood training course

No plan or training. Wifey was already a certified bad ass. When she doesn't have to shuttle the kids around she rides her ducati to work or my fj55 on 37's. manual transmissions big trucks or my hard tail suicide shift rat bike don't scare her at all.

What year is your trailer? It looks fairly old because of the 5 lug wheels. I'm assuming you don't have the extended side panels any longer? Do you consider that only one cord? Looks like more than that to me...

From memory the trailer is from the 50's. I tossed the side stake hardware years ago. Most of the wood was hammered and I just did not see using them much. But when I acquired the trailer it was pretty complete including the top bow hardware.

It's probably over a cord but my last couple loads have seemed under so for the books and laws of averages lets call it a cord. The wood was all standing dead and had the needles still on them. Beatle kill again, there was sap and moisture still in the tree, so it was pretty heavy.

Next year I'll have to find a new spot. Between myself and a couple friends we pretty much cleared all the dead ones in that location.:D

Thread needs bump. I got pics. It was neighborhood cleanup day...

I suppose... But it worked to get out. Gotta do what ya gotta do to get wood home. But, yes. Definitely should have had more tongue weight.

Hey Mark... we keep running in to each other! Hope all is well.

About to started back on my A2. Need to do some bows and a tarp along with a little mounting system design I have for the front of the trailer. Been too busy using it to work on it :)
