I didn't get pictures, but "while I was in there" I fixed my spare tire hoist. I'm not sure how it happened but the metal band or hoop that keeps the chain in had gotten pulled way over to one side. Used a vise brake, hammer, screwdrivers, etc to bend back into shape. I thought I was going to replace with the one I got at PnP, but that one was badly tweaked in the accident.

Got the big girl out for a little drive today. Went up Peavine. Saw a bunch of losers tearing up the place. It sucks! Saw a couple of HORRIBLE drivers in Jeeps just not able to get up some easy spots. Just spinning and whaling around. I wish people would learn more about off-road driving.

I would love to pick your brain about fixing my suspension on the 80 one of these days. All my bushes are clapped out so I know I need to do that, but the PO cobbled the suspension together and geometry is all out of whack.

The Slee bumper's driver side bracket is slotted for 4 optional bolts, but the frame doesn't have nuts. I didn't want to drill the frame, so I welded the nuts to a strip with a breakaway handle. If I ever remove the bracket I will have to pull the strip with a magnet and weld on a new "applicator".

We will see how it sits when I get the motor back in it.. the j springs have it about 4" higher than mine, the armour, bumpers, sliders,. Add alot of weight.

Ohh and yes both trucks have been repainted from the front doors forward..

Bumper is on, though I need longer bolts to mount my receiver. Which brings me to a couple requests.

First: I would like to replace my receiver with another class III or IV with 6-bolt mounting, that does not drop the receiver tube. I can order a new one but if any of you local guys have one you'd like to part with let me know.

Second:. I need to cut up my rear mud flaps to fit the new bumper, but they are in pretty good shape. If you have thrashed rear mud flaps with good mounting holes and you'd like to get rid of them or work a trade let me know.

Nice work! Love the Bumper.

Also: the Redhead rebuilt steering gear is now installed, and wow what a difference. It still doesn't return to center well due to caster, but now I don't have to counter steer coming out of a curve on the freeway!

@RAYJON
The axle you gave me had "62 land cruiser noisy" written on it. I went to drain the oil today to get started stripping it and figured out why it was noisy, there was no oil, not a drop. :rofl:

Lol,.

That one came from lee,.it's been in the car garden a couple of years.. If it doesn't workout I have another one,. Just let me know..

After I evicted the tenants everything went pretty smooth. The noise was probably caused by the grooves in the center pin, it was badly worn. I didn't spend much time looking at it but the side gears could have seized up. The gears looked pretty good otherwise if somebody wanted to build a spare.

I assume she was rough,.
