What did you do with your 80 this weekend: maintenance, fix, wheel, nothing, new mod??

Checked air in tires
Change oil&filter 180,000
Fill gas tank
Waiting on box of parts from Beno

Got it 90% done, sold my Audi and now the 80 is my only car! I don't know how many other manual trans 80s there are in the US but I am happy to be one of the group

Did some snow wheeling.. These MTR kevlars are unbeatable in the snow at 6psi

And we took the ditch down the mountain so the retards in stock vehicles could go up and get stuck, ended up winching out 3 full sized trucks that day.

BFG KO2s were fantastic, great traction in untouched powder. Packed snow was a little more slippery, but never had any issue starting or stopping. Mostly drove around in low range 1st or 2nd gear, open all around

Replaced my rusted out stock cats with a new set of high flows. The header side flanges on both of mine were rotten and after some wheeling recently had blown out. My truck sounds a lot less hillbilly now.

I have an early h42 trans out of an fj60 in my truck. It could really use an h55 5 speed for the overdrive, but It's not to bad on highway. It does 70 at 2900rpm.

Since we are on the topic of manual transmissions, how do you find the h42 compared to the stock a440? I know a five speed would be better but how much of a difference is there in gearing between the two four speeds?

Installed my OME J SPRINGS WITH FOX PERFORMANCE 2.0 on my 80.

Have to put a 30MM front spacer from Slee to align everything back together..
Fox Shocks needed adapters to fit the front (PRO COMP have them..)

Came out looking incredible.

We finish the lift by 2.00am.. so by 3.30 am we were on our way to CITRUS NATIONAL FORREST to do some wheeling with some friend that came up from Miami.

The truck has noticably more power than with a440. My truck has 35s and the gearing feels similar to a stock fj80 with 31s, but the h42 has a 1:1 4th gear so there is no overdrive.
