Fresh key (90999-00174) cut at the dealership. The made in Mexico replacement keys I received with the vehicle were worn pretty good. Now all the locks and ignition feel so smooth. Weirdly enough, the dealership here issues made in Italy replacement keys if you don't bring them a blank.

@OkieOverland I have Marathon Seat covers on and they have been really awesome (also holds up really well for spills and such with the little one). They having a Presidents day sale currently. Around the big holidays, they typically do 15% off, which is pretty nice.

Received some less than ideal news from the team at Blackstone this weekend. They say it's "relatively mild, what's the hive think here?

I would do a gas analysis of the cooling system to check for hydrocarbons. If the cooling system shows hydrocarbons it's time for a head gasket. But because it's been caught early it's unlikely the bottom end is hurt.

If no hydrocarbons are present i would put dye in cooling system and pressure test it. Using a boroscope you can pinpoint the cause of your leak and repair it.

Spent my Saturday driving around with our 2 month old daughter and my wife. Getting the rig ready for spring and summer travels. The wife has a short list of upgrades to make it more comfortable, so here's what I'll be tackling next:

  • New Sony head unit with carplay
  • New speakers
  • BH3D double cup holders
  • Possible suspension replacement with Dobinsons stock height kit
  • Cloth seat covers because the leather gets too hot in the Oklahoma sun - if anyone has a good recommendation for seat covers, I'm all ears!
@OkieOverland , I got Coverking Cordura Ballistic Seat Covers a couple years ago, and they are cool, comfortable, look decent, and have stood up well. Got mine from Auto Anything, but lots of Coverking dealers out there.

I was originally looking at Escape Gear covers from Equipt, but just couldn't justify the price. Maybe one day.

I might replace the passenger side rear control arm tomorrow. Powder day interruptions…

Also chasing some engine oil leaks. IH8.OIL.LEAKS

I opted to replace the spark plugs instead. I guess I need a new intake air tube too.

.

After sitting on it for a couple months, finally installed a Delta Rear Panhard lift bracket. It was more of a struggle than I expected, after multiple tries it took a 3 foot cheater bar on my breaker bar to get the original bolt out.

My 80 now has noticeably better handling though, so worth it!

After -- you can see that change in angle to the rear bar:
