Then I cut the hard lines just after the size transition in front of the t-case, sanded and reamed.
Replaced the cracked metal section with rubber vacuum hose for now. BACK IN BUSINESS!

I might make new hard lines with some 3/16” fuel line later...

It would be easier if I just sent you the piping I removed from my '89 FJ62 donor vehicle. I have no need for it, I converted my transfer case to manual front drive engagement before it went into my '86. You'd have it Tuesday, mail only takes one day from here to Albuquerque. PM me your mailing address and I'll package it up for you.

That would be amazing!
After sucking and blowing all afternoon, this is a bonus! Thank you for the offer! Pm-ing now.

Took the 60 out for the first drive in about 2 years.
After so much work and so many $$$. I had concerns. 60 mile drive at all sorts of speeds (0-65MPH). Average was 55-60 as that was the speed on one of the longest roads.
AC blasting the whole time.

Learned that it did not over heat. This was a symptom that caused the PO to have the engine rebuilt and then it still over heated and he put in a new rad and it still was not good. I replaced the Thermostat, water pump and fan clutch. Per my mechanical gauge it stayed around 180* and even lower at times.
Also thought I had a trans leak still, but it is not the case and I believe it was something else. I washed the 60 before my test drive and taking off the skid plate water came out.....looking at that.
4th gear is a little noisier than I would like. Some heavier weight oil and I will rebuilt the spare 4-Speed I have and install it this fall.
AC needs a bit more refrigerant.
Other than that it was a success.
Pics below was at mile 42 of the 60 mile drive.

This weekend we visited the southern most point of Western Australia. We also got pretty bogged on another beach close by..... but got out without help (tyres down to 12psi and rocking back and forward a bit to prevent more crabbing sideways towards the Southern Ocean.....) In the last photo (with a nice Landy on the rock) I wasn’t bogged yet - about 200m further along the beach is where I stopped... the photo doesn’t show the changing slope of the beach too well....

Not what I’ve done but what I plan on doing anybody have an fixes for the sloppy automatic shift?! A pointer to a thread would be greatly appreciated!!
Replace the plastic bushings at the shifter under the plastic cover . You can still get them through the dealership.
It is an easy fix!

Bellcranks...I removed the sleeves from the aluminum blocks b/c Ebrake was seized. Much better now. Very frustrating though

Got in a little more work on my rear drawers and a hinged side wing and partition to keep clear space around the fridge- may have gone overboard on the height, but they’re spacious! The drawers are sloped on the back to take advantage of all the space available. I thought of making them vertical and having a compartment behind the rear seat, but accessing it would involve cleaning out the back seat and taking out car seats so this works better for me. I'm no carpenter, but they're functional!

Upgraded my tranny cooler to a Derale unit with an in-line thermostat and fan, and replaced trans soft lines.

Also (almost) got my rear third member set up with the new 4.88's, but I have an issue with the carrier bearings not fully seating that I still need to sort out. The good news is that the gears should be halfway broken in from all the mileage rolling them to recheck the pattern. Some expert reassurance on my pattern would be welcome if appropriate..

beautiful! Feels like i've seen that area/terrain in Ronny Dahl's youtube channel.

Not so much my Fj60, but was able to check out my brother in law's workshop at ACC in Atlanta while visiting family in the area....all I can saw is WOW! Super nice people and a shop that's is awesome. I drooled over many 40s and 60s there. Talk about kid in a candy store. Wish we had something like that around where I live...of course I'm sure my wife doesn't....
