I ditched the column mount for my SG2 and installed it in the overhead console with this new mount I got from ben3dbuild on Instagram.

Finally got around to installing some parts I've had laying in the garage for a while. All new brake rotors and pads, new rear bump stops, and new rear airbags. Drives much better now!

Another 5k mile Valvoline Max Life 150,000 mile + oil change. Might move to Kirland Syn because it’s on sale.

Scraped off bugs and then oil change, chassis lube and all around check up. 1000 miles in 3 days through Coral Reef NP and Goblin Valley SP. Drove through some really otherworldly places by Hanksville, UT - Mars Research Center, Swing Arm City and Factory Butte. Definitely coming back to explore that area little better sometime. Also took very scenic UT-12 back with small detour to Burr Trail - that part deserves a separate trip sometime too.

Finally installed a two inch lift that's been sitting in the garage mocking me for the last few months and a few other bits to round out the weekend. Made sure to take it off road to test. Those Home Depot parking lots better watch out!

Don’t forget your post check ride re torque. I only did visuals along the way and lost a shock bolt on the rim rocker trail a 1000 miles from home.

And don’t forget to carry spare bolts, nuts, and bushings for various suspension components. They seem to disappear sometimes on hard trails

I gave all the hardware I touched a wrench check yesterday but will do it again when I get home from work this afternoon. Your post from when that first happened to you prompted me to put a dab of blue Loctite on my lower shock bolts.

I never heard/saw the condensor fan run since owning this GX, but the AC worked well after driving away. Tested the fan by connecting 12V and it spun up, but had no voltage at the relay output/plug. Added a few ounces of R-134a, cleaned the condenser, and reseated all AC fuses and relays. Now the condenser fan runs normally, and the AC gets cold faster. I almost bought a new condensor fan motor.

Might put old Girl in the classifieds. We got a new 3/4 truck and two thirsty V8$ with California ⛽️ prices makes me 🤮

I have a 2011 Tundra Rock Warrior double cab and my GX470. Could I get something with better mileage? Yep. Problem is when I factor total cost of ownership it comes back to keeping what I have gas cost be damned.

The old leather seats were barely heating any longer, snailing forward and backward, and the driver's seat was starting to get pretty ripped apart. I opted for corbeau sport seats in vinyl/cloth, heated, with the funky lumbar support pump. No inner armrest, 15Kg total weight difference. :queue in the much wanted and elusive prado 120 raised console armrest: The brackets have plenty of room underneath, easily accessible from the front, and the sides when the doors are open. The seats lean completely forward and backward, and when forward I can climb into the rear passenger area from the front :p

Got rid of the useless air suspension buttons, put in a lightbar button and a small cubby:

Also got rid of the original seat heat buttons, moved the downhill assist up front next to the diff locker button, and added a quick charge usb and usb-c outlet with voltage reader:

Replaced all dash button lights (t3 wedge) and the A/C and display lights (5x t4.2 wedge for A/C buttons, 3x t4.7 wedge for A/C display) and placed the new seat heat buttons right below the A/C panel:

Also got textured black door handles to contrast with the matte grey exterior, I got tired of the vinyl ripping off from behind the handles (5 pic limit, sorry).

Got my new tires and rims together. What a s!@t show!
Showed up at appointment at local Mr Tire only to have the lead ‘tech’ look at my rims and tell me ‘we won’t touch powder coated rims’. WTF?!
I proceeded to explain that nearly all new cars have OEM powder coated rims and got the thousand mile meth head stare. Went to a local racing/monster truck/off-road fab and retail shop and they hooked me up. Took two trips since I had 5 old rims and tires also that needed to be dismounted all being carried in a gen1 Tacoma short bed.
Shop manager loved the rims and alternated gushing over the look and lightweight. My Relations RR7’s are 5# lighter than OEM. Went with Falken AT4W’s in 285/70 in the end since I’m not quite ready to regear and 315’s would just be too much with 3.73 for even regular driving.
Gotta make time to get the new suspension under her now.

Did a minor change to the front dome as i wasn't too crazy about the faded amber light, so I picked up some 6mm 12v pilot lights:

I removed the bracket that holds the original bulbs, clipped the wires right at the bulbs, and welded in the new lights. I managed to squeeze the small nuts into the socket where the original brackets were, then just twisted in the new pilot light nice and snug into place:

They fit in the holes just perfect:

They fade in anbd out with the ignition, it's not as bright in person:

I'd like to do something about the footwells and inside door handle lights, I might try and use the same pilot lights since I have a bunch left over. I also just realized I need to change the date/time on the radio :p
