Looks great! I need to get my butt in gear so I'll be ready to drop it in!

I was skeptical going into it on this one with such heavy corrosion but it is cleaning up nicely.

Once painted and ARPs in hand it will come together fairly quickly. Although I do got to move shop in the next 30-days too! 🤦‍♂️

Cheers

I pulled the steering wheel and contact cleaned/dissassembled the headlight switch and dried everything with a heat gun to no avail. The twist switch on the stalk was activating a relay directly above the glovebox when the headlights were turned on. I removed the high/lo beam switch and cleaned but couldn't find the problem. ...It's going on the road tomorrow so I tapped the line from the relay that goes hot when you turn on the headlights and sent it to a old school universal hi/lo beam foot switch that a sheet metal screwed to the floor up and to the left of clutch pedal and then new lines to the headlights. They're LED's so the amperage is quite low. It all works now.

... Also on this post is a picture of my cross member rear motor mount. Rubber separated on the original mount from a hard bottoming last year. A diagnosed and confirmed the separated mount less than a week from the relic run so it wasn't feasible to order a new factory mount. I managed to get a pair of Cadillac hydraulic motor mounts and make them work. Cutting and welding and modifying but I made it work. Would rather have done the factory setup if I had time.

Had I know I would have brought a spare transmission mount for you. Pretty quick swap at camp with a bottle jack.

Maybe I was thinking I would hear higher numbers since your on smaller tire, but the 2.8 makes more power, and you have more weight,,,,,,,,,,

I swapped a 4BD1T in my pig on 37's and was impressed to be in the mid/upper 20's. I would love to get another 4BD1T and swap it in my Troopy.

Yeah but a loaded down troopy is over 6,000lbs. I'm happy with the economy numbers. :-)

New boots!

What tires and do you use spacers with those wheels?

Ya know, I thought my reply might been taken slightly different than i meant it, I'm in agreement.

Filled up in Barstow and made it to Kingman, AZ and got 30mpg... Best economy thus far. The next tank was 28.5 mpg but I got sleepy and pressed the skinny pedal more. Drove 16 hours straight from Monterrey, CA back to Santa Fe.

What's your fuel capacity? Dual tanks? Bet that fill-up was painful.
