Hit Snoqualmie Pass for snow fun with my new fashion accessories mounted. Made it up the steepest part of pass with EGT 900 or less at 55 to 60 mph in 4wd also.

What Maxtrax mount are you using here? I like the accessibility you have with them hanging sideways like that.

I took a solo trip up into the mountains on New Year's Eve. A chance to get away and find some solitude. Didn't expect to find quite this much snow but it made for a beautiful and peaceful drive.

Those maxtraxx side mounts are from Front Runner and work with their racks. The also can be used to mount the Front Runner ski/board/fishing rod holders. I like 'em so far.

Apparently Quick Pitch is starting to make a version of these specifically for 70s with a recess for storage.
Watching ASPW's second-to-last video it seems that Quick Pitch version requires cutting inside the doors... that's very iffy if true.

Yeah I saw that recently as well. It looked really thick...

As it is you have to watch what you install near the back doors so it doesn't make contact with the table. The further in it protrudes (or is it intrudes?) the trickier it is to avoid. The frontrunner model is an inch or two deep as long as you clear the clasp. I don't want it any further inboard than that.

@janyyc @JDM Journeys Do you have a link to said table? I don't watch his content anymore.

I'm sorry, I got my companies confused. I was thinking of Alu Innovations (though maybe ASPW mentioned QuickPitch?) which you can see here:

You guys know more made in USA tailgate table options for out 70 series .?
Paul Marsh used it on the Wander Libre Troopy: Coming Soon: Our 2015 Land Cruiser 78 Troopy Will Be For Sale! – Wander Libre - https://www.wanderlibre.com/for-sale-toyota-and-cruiser-78-troopy/ (which is for sale BTW)
Drawbacks - not as widely reviewed, unsure of rattle protection, drop-down is attached to metal straps and not as solid as Front Runner, and it was designed for a J$$p!

Cutting the door out has been my plan. I'm not too worried about structural integrity as my spare tire is hung off the bumper and not the door.

I understand your reluctance re ASPW. As a mitsu fan, I found his opinions too brash. Too... Opinionated? Lol. But I got over it. At least he presents his opinion as just that. He owns it. Too many seem to present their 2 cents as fact. That's worse.

Anyways, he mentioned the quick pitch as @janyyc mentioned. Here's a screen capture of its brief appearance in his video...

As mentioned, you have to cut the inner door structure to fit it. And as ASPW adds, this may compromise the rear tire holder's ability to hold the rear tire...

The other one mentioned is from bison gear which I think is out of Poland. But pretty standard stuff...

Thanks, good for ideas.... I'm leaning towards a hybrid of a US made table and making the cubby hole myself.

It's pretty quick and easy to make a table yourself with stuff you get at Lowe's. Hinges, steel pop rivets, hobby sheet of good three quarter inch plywood, three quarters wood screws, double hung window latch, and some type of strap cable or chain to hold it in proper position when open.

True.... and I'm all about the DIY'er but I also appreciate "factory-like" workmanship... if I had a plasma cutter and a brake, I would attempt it.
