Arrived back in PI a week ago...
Before starting the truck I checked the oil and water; found the water level low in the radiator.
Added water to see if I could locate the leak; found a small leak in one of the core tubes.
When the vehicle has been run for a while and is hot; the tube starts to drip....
Removed the radiator and tried to find a reputable radiator shop in town. Yeah right....
The radiator shops in town are mom and pop shops. I was recommended a shop by a brother in law.
The tank end was removed, the tubes were cleaned, one tube was soldered and was told the radiator was fixed. They do not cap the ends and pressurize to test for leaks. You can probably figure out where this story is going. Reinstalled the radiator, filled with water and no leaks until I drove the truck. Once hot there was another tube dripping. I drive the truck to the radiator shop and showed the owner. My broken tagalog and the owners bad english didnt resolve the problem. Needed a translator.
The owner told me the tubes were too thin and after cleaning them there could be more leaks. He is doubtful soldering another tube would resolve the problem.
Trying to source a new radiator here is PI will be difficult so I will have to keep adding water until I can find a new radiator.
I used ToyoDIY and found the radiator for my 1993 PZJ75 to be: 16400-17070 which fits quite a few 70 series vehicles.
Searched Partsouq and a few Austrailia sights; no luck...
Any ideas on a source for here in PI ?
Thanks,
Charles
