Drove it out of the shop and around to the front of our building so I could take this photo and show off the newly installed snorkel.

There was no significant dust nor deep water crossings during this 50 foot journey, but I was ready for both!

16x6 OEM Toyota rims. They are fairly rare, I got these set from a guy in BC and I believe they were off his HZJ77.

The same style are available in 15" from 1st or 2nd gen 4Runners.

@fireball

Those look like prado rims. I've never seen an HZJ77 with 16s. They always came in the 15" although the back spacing is different than the 4Runner 15" version of the rim. A lot of prados that come over and still run the stock rims are often 16s.

Prado rims are an excellent option for those looking for an 16" rim with a stock look. If you want wider then I suggest Micky Thompson.

That darn chirping sound ....
One of my two idler pulleys has a bearing that is on its last legs however by the time I crank it and raise the hood, the chirping has stopped. Time to change both bearings I guess.

You are probably correct. They are definitely 16" ! :)

They were fine without spacers I added them just to widen the track width/stance. The only drawback is the narrow width of the rim limits tire choice.

Finished install of OME suspension. Nice to have a TLC with working springs n shocks. Tires n wheels Monday. Stock 16x7 with 235x75 rubber. Personally spacers are like blocks on leaf springs. Not best practice.

Swapped out springs bushings etc replaced with OME springs. Poor old girl was in need of help! Probably 4-5 hours total work. Son now knows some thing about his suspension. Sits at least 4 inches taller?is heavy duty but I expected only21/2 like the new stance though.

When your pounding out those bushings I found it way easier to have two guys pry from outside while I pounded from under the hoisted truck. Bushings were trashed but still tough to get out.
Worst part of job. Looks and rides way better. Went from 1 inch of travel to just over 4 at front axle.

I don't understand why you hacked up the stock stereo mounting? It's about the nicest dash ever made for mounting head units into. Six screws for the surround & vent, four 8mm AF bolts holding in the cage. Every aftermarket stereo I've ever used had threaded holes which lined up perfectly with the factory toyota stereo mounting plates.

I did because that tray underneath the head unit is a useless waste of space. Mounting a head unit in a flat piece of aluminum was a piece of cake, and I had a place for ARB switches, power ports, and various switches I never quite got around to using.
Has worked out great.
