Now all I need is the actually White Bezel, and White Hard Top PPG paint codes for my '64!

You know...I work/play on my rig to relax, I think of it more as a therapeutic exercise than I do work, so seeing that color match, and now knowing I can get the exact color for my rig...well it really put a huge 5 year old grin on my face :D

:D

Me too man.

The whole color hunt was starting to wear on me, but man, I was so happy to see that color sprayed :)

Made my day :D

OK John, hope this helps you with the computer you are working from :)

Thanks Dean. I think it looks like a match. Looks more green to me than yellow but I do see yellow in it. Of course I'm shade blind. What do you think itis more green or yellow?

Destin make sure you mark things as you take them apart, plus a lot of pictures well help. Your's is so original that pretty much everything is still stock. Your lucky the PO left it stock. For every cruiser like your's there is at least fifty that have been modified by POs

I think it looks more green than yellow personally :)

Thanks, I love that it is bone stock too :)

Good advice on labelling things.
I am tentatively planning on marking wires with numbers or tags, as well as maybe taking Polaroid's to tape to the boxes for each bolt sets etc so i know what goes where.

I think it is going to be an interesting process hehe.
The tub removal is the most daunting for me :)

I always find getting the column shifter apart to be the big problem. I've never been able to master it:frown: Maybe some one will post up a easy way.

On any body mounts try to tighten just a little first. If the thread breaks loose clean any thread showing with a die and then use something like PB Blaster. If that doesn't work maybe a little heat. If nothing else just unthread until they break.

good idea :D

I think I will take your advise and put mousemilk on all the bolts 3 or more days before i start :D

Ya the column shifter might not be as intuitive to dismantle now that i think of it...

That being said, I cannot wait to start :D

I'm pretty sure you want the stock red, but there are a lot of reds out there that look really good. I don't think I have to tell you , anything will look better then the color you bought. Good Luck. P.S. check HOUSE OF COLOR .:hhmm:

 I hope your talking about the the pink on the first page not the red he painted the apron on the second page. That one was a match to the original other than a little sun faded on the cruiser.

Thanks :D

I was never really into red before i bought this cruiser, but it quickly grew on me.
The red has alot of depth to it, I really like it :)

Thanks for the kind words btw.
Cannot wait to get it painted :D

Have you painted yours green yet?

not yet - in the process - check my thread in the 45 section - good times bro!

That is one nice 45 man!
I read through pieces of that thread before :D
Going to reread it more thoroughly now :)

I might have a few questions about how you filled the cracks on your steering wheel and repainted it :D

Bezel and top color for my 7/69 is referenced as T302, Shell Ivory. I am not sure of a PPG code though.

Thanks
I tried that one, and the codes Destin used, and my local guys are just scratching their heads :frown:

I'll drop in a new place or two next week, but so far I am thinking my best bet will be to have Destin's guy mix it for me...I am sure I will find a guy locally...it's just a matter of when :frown:

what are you looking for the bezel and top? what year?
