Greetings. Long time member. I have owned a couple of 80 Series over the years, a ‘07 FJ Cruiser, ‘14 Tundra, ‘11 GX 460 and am now the owner of a new to me ’11 LX 570. I have been off the forums for a while driving my Tundra since I bought it new in October of 2013. Zero issues with that truck the entire time I have owned it. ZERO. I recently was in the market for a 100, 200 or GX and ended up with a GX first, and then the LX purchase came to be only because of an issue during the purchase of the GX.
I bought the and loved the GX from a Dealer, did my homework, but ended up with a vehicle that has had some minor but expensive body only damage to the front bumper and driver’s side headlight assembly, discovered at night while driving after purchase. It is all still under further investigation, but, being a dealer, and not a wholesale dealer, I assure you, they are shady, and told me they change Carfax info. on the reg. So, dealers will be dealers, as usual I suspect now and forever unfortunately. While that is getting resolved, I came across and could not pass up a deal on a LX 570.
I had given up on the chance of a 200 series, as much as I love the 5.7 just because of the crazy market and how expensive they are. But for less than 20K, It’s well loved with 238,000 miles, and has been in north Texas and Oklahoma it’s whole life. It drives better than my Tundra by a long shot. I have a few things I want to get started on immediately such as front seats, a screen replacement, overall cleaning or carpet change, wheels and tires, led lighting, etc. Sooooo. The journey begins.
I have some research to start absorbing, but hope to be active and helpful as I have already experienced a few things that might be helpful to all regarding towing, headlights, amp under the seat, and so forth.
Thanks for this forum and everyone involved. I look forward to a positive contribution!
